Starlight Parade issue already

I just remember seeing Spectromagic a few times back when we fist visited the US and it was truly magical, I remember tearing up every time we watched it but Starlight just didn’t hit the same notes! It was very good though and was far more vIbrant that expected after watching it’live’ twice!
Maybe its an age thing but the new firework shows etc don’t seem to have the same ‘magic’ that the old ones had, Epcot’s Illuminations with the globe and the narrator blowing out the torches around the world at the start was unmissable but every show since we just aren’t too fussed it we catch them or not! Fantasmic is still amazing as ever at HS and Happily Ever After is superb (although I still long for the feels ‘Wishes’ gave me ❤️❤️❤️)

To me the challenge was the music. Hope I learn to appreciate it more once I view it again. What I can remember is the nod to MSEP and that was my favourite musical part.

I do agree seeing it back further was enjoyable as opposed to being close.

Yes, as a part of an older generation, I remember the experience of Spectromagic and Illuminations. The magic was so strong and moving, you could feel the emotion fill your soul. The beauty and the quality were simply incredible. During the 1990's and the early 2000's there was nothing in the world to match a vacation in WDW. I miss those days

Our thoughts as well. Loved Spectro, Wishes, Illuminations, Fantasmic and HEA and. wouldn't miss them, but the rest more of a take it or leave it (usually leave wins out).

Sorry Whimsy wasn’t working, but glad you enjoyed it otherwise.

After reading initial comments on the parade thread, I watched it from a distance. Behind a crowd of people. I could not see the walkers at all, but could see their lights very well. Only bummer to being back so far, I couldn’t see Tinker Bell.

Interesting to read about how watching the parade farther back is a little better than up close, and I thank those that posted it.

I have not seen this parade yet in person, but I have several times on YouTube and I told my DD22 that I think it’d be better to watch this a little farther back, and we will not be sitting on a curb for an hour + before the parade starts. She agrees (she just started her doctorate program, so I’m not sure when we’ll be seeing this in person).

My thoughts on this parade is that it’s like watching floating art - these floats are amazingly artistic - incredible actually. I’ve seen SpectroMagic and Main Street Electrical Parade many many times and I like how this is so different. It’s a totally different vibe and I can hardly wait to see if for myself and fingers crossed everything will be working right when we do 🤞🏻
