Starbucks mugs?

I just saw on Twitter that they're in stock today. And my pass is blocked. I don't know yet if I can go tomorrow morning to see what the rush looks like.

What twitter feed did you see that? I don't see it on my Disneyland Today or Disneyland Resort feed.

Really? I'm about to head to the Park now for one last ride on Luigi's. I'll stop by Starbucks and check if it's true... I somehow doubt it, though.
Wow, it's true! I finally just picked up my Disneyland You Are Here mugs! They were flying off the shelves, too. I tried to get some more info from a CM, but as usual she didn't seem to know anything about stock levels or anything else. Heading over to DCA now to check out the situation there.

Update: Plenty of stock at DCA, too. Lots of people are buying them.

Well I won't hold my breath that there will be any left by next week when I get there. Today's holiday crowds will wipe out their supply I'm sure.:guilty:

Boo! I am not going until next week! I'm sure they will all be gone by then. I guess I will just keep on trying!

I find these mugs to be cute, nice and of course practical. However, I refuse to feed into the hype surrounding them. Hence, if one is around when I am, great, if not that's OK too.

All this hype will settle down soon, I'm sure, and these mugs will simply be a product that will pretty much always be available. The demand is high at the moment because they are new and the stock levels were initially low. Walk into any local Starbucks in the area and you can get California or Orange Country "You Are Here" mugs at any time. It will eventually be like that with the Parks mugs, too.

We were leaving today and my daughter texted me that MousePlanet had just sent a feed that the mugs were in. I ended up standing for 10 mins in each line to get the mugs for her. They are limited to 5 per person. AP discounts on the mugs.

This is something that was announced LONG before they actually offered them. The announcement generated so much enthusiasm that there is no excuse for "underestimating" the demand. For whatever reason, they have chosen to undersupply something (again), which is either a marketing strategy or just a "whatever" statement to the public. Is it more expensive to manufacture and stock extra merchandise? Maybe, but when you know it's going to sell it feels like an intentional slap to those who are waiting for it. I would be willing to bet that a large number of park goers would be willing to sacrifice plushie shelf space for a few more Starbucks Disney mugs.
Actually, my guess is the port "slow down". I've had containers go out 4 weeks ago that are still sitting, waiting on ships to arrive and be unloaded. The longshoremen are on a massive work slow down until a contract is signed. My guess? Containers are still sitting on ships, anchored off the CA coast.

2 people in my family collect them. They have them from all over the world and they trade then with each other when they travel. I think the DCA one is ugly, I wouldn't buy one for myself, but I know can't get away with getting one not the other for them.

You can actually get San Fran, San Diego and Vegas in the DTD store. They also have the city gift cards from all over CA.

Thanks. I hadn't read about that. Makes sense!

The mugs are sold out as of today, according to a friend that is in the parks right now

Yep, DL ones are for sure sold out. There were a few on shelves around 730 last night but they were completely gone by 11pm last night, and again, they don't know when they'll be back in stock. They were not restocked this morning.

Well, glad I ran my errands this morning instead of heading down there like I was debating.

FULLY STOCKED - BOTH PARKS - As of 8pm tonight. I was able to pick up a couple tonight. They didn't have the tumblers, just the mugs. They said probably sold out by tomorrow night. Pixie dust for others...we only have 3 days here, and happy to check that off my list.

Shelves looked pretty empty as I was leaving around 11 tonight, but there were DL ones in stock still!

Pretty crowded this morning at the parks. 10 min wait for Toy Story shuttle, 8 minutes at the gate while lead handled ticket issue, large crowds on Main St because Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip & Dale were all out! Starbucks was half full. People grabbing mugs as CM restocked. I took mine off the cart. Grabbed my mugs and hardly a wait to pay. Display held about 50-60 mugs. About 50 on the cart. They could have a full room in the back, but it looked like a losing battle. Been in line at DCA for about 15 minutes. 2 sides open, about 40 people waiting per side. There's about 20-30 mugs on the front display, no one is buying. I'm about halfway through the line, confident I'll get the 1 I'm waiting for. It's so hot in here, will need a large slushie after this.

I will not drive 45 minutes on my day off to get them... I will not drive 45 minutes on my day off to get them... I will not.

Ha, not only did I drive 40 minutes, today is the first day I'm working in 3 weeks. I also took a picture with Mickey, just because he was there, haha.
