Starbucks app in Disney

So to sum up...you can use the app or just a giftcard. You can EARN stars. But you can't redeem stars, get your free refills, and things like that. But supposedly you can get your birthday drink at the DTD store.


for someone on the dining plan, you'd have to look at your specific plans. If Starbucks will be your Snack, use the Snack credit. If you'll have a Snack AND a coffee drink each day, use the giftcard/app for the Starbucks purchase.

Birthday drinks and other Bonus rewards at the DTD store - Westside Starbucks because it is a company store. The kiosk/CS Starbucks near WoD doesn't redeem rewards.

I've used my app to pay but I don't think they let you redeem any rewards. I also know they can't refund to your App/Card. (they charged me the wrong price but could not refund my card so they just gave me cash back).

Seems like Disney is one of the only places that accepts the app as payment but does not allow you to redeem rewards. I have never encountered that before. I guess just another way for disney to gouge you for your hard earned money.

Target doesn't let you redeem, nor does the Starbucks found in resort hotels like Harrahs Casinos. Disney's not gouging you that's a Starbucks policy.

The super target near me does. Never been to a harrahs casino but airports allow it too. It's more of a Disney policy since disney gets a cut of the profits and they don't want consumers getting free refills on coffee and teas.

None of the targets in my town do nor the state next to me. Harrahs, Hyatt in NOLA, casino in Laighlin can't remember which one, etc. I ask every time and have been told the same thing. Starbucks will not reimburse those shops for redeeming rewards, because the are not company stores. Maybe your Targrt takes the hit, and as for airports those probably are company stores.

But Target, Disney, and a few more, you cannot redeem rewards. You can do everything else. Earn stars, pay through app, get Starbucks gift cards, etc.

It's due to the fact of how it's ran and if it's a 100% Starbucks branch. The Starbucks at Disney are ran by cast members. The Starbucks at Targets are ran by Target team members. So being that it's not full Starbucks employees and a 100% full Starbucks store, you can't redeem rewards.

And as far as Disney "not wanting consumers getting free refills". It has to do with Starbucks policy. You get a coffee and sit down for awhile and finish your hot coffee or iced coffee, you can get a refill. The Starbucks in Disney are incredibly busy so they didn't have enough space or need room for seats and people to sit in there. Therefore you can't sit down, finish your beverage, then get a refill. Any Starbucks, you leave the building, you don't come back in and get a free refill (unless friends with a worker of course lol). However at the DTD locations there is a lot of seating, so they might offer free refills. I can't confirm those two spots on the refill subject

Well no idea why the super target near me accepts it. In fact that is where I got my free birthday drink.

Our local Targets provide all the same Starbucks perks as a regular Starbucks with the app/gold card. Our supermarket (Giant) has a Starbucks booth. I can use my app to pay and I earn bonus stars, but I can't redeem free drinks and they don't honor special offers (like buy one, get one).
