Star Wars Weekends

Does anyone know when they'll annouce the dates for Star Wars Weekends? I looked up the past dates and used those to book our DVC 5/16-5/25. Just waiting on the offical dates to book airfare...

Also, this will be our first time attending SWW's so if anyone has any suggestions on things not to miss...please share!!

Don't know when they will announce, but for the last few years, they've been in May and extended into June.


We went the first weekend in June last year and had a blast!!! The kids said it was their favorite thing during the trip, but for different reasons. DD Jennifer, 14 loved it because she's in love with Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader). DS Mark loved the Jedi Training Academy and got to "duel" with Darth himself!!

Yes, Matt who runs the outstanding site www.mgmstudios.org, said they are usually announced in January or February.

We wish!! Just his picture being everywhere was enough to send Jennifer to seventh heaven!!

We DID see Warwick Davis, who played Wicket the Ewok. He was also in "Willow" with Val Kilmer, and more recently, he is Professor Filtwick in Harry Potter. Since the kids are also HP fans, they thought that was cool too!

No Hayden, but there was a pretty good Anakin doing meet and greets. He wasn't exactly like HC, but not bad at all!!

I was unable due to work schedule to travel there this year, but I will so be there in May 2006

I have to say that I met Hayden Christensen in NYC when he was promoting Revenge of the Sith. He was so nice, signed autographs and took pictures. I was quite lucky enough to get one with him!!!

If he does come down that would be awesome, here's hoping he does.

If you are planning around a particular celebrity, you may have to wait until April to get those dates. They usually come out with the dates in 2 phases: one is the start and finish dates and then the actual celebrities that are scheduled to appear.

Thanks for all the info!! I don't know if I can wait til Feb!!! We already have our room booked since that can easily be changed however, the airfare is only getting more expense. Looking at the past 3 years our dates (5/16-5/25) seem safe but you never know.
