This seemed as good a place as any to ask. What goes on at MGM's Star Wars weekends. We will be there in May and I want to go in case there are souvies sold exclusively at this time only. Do they have the star wars characters walk around?

I am sure the crowds will be up as I will have to go on Mem Day wknd since we will just miss opening S.W. weekend. Just wanted to know if it would be worth the effort with 3 kids who will only want to ride the rides!

Oh well I'm definitely going at some point! They will have some of the actors signing autographs, some crew members, but I know the guy who plays Chewbacca is there, and Warwick Davis, he plays an ewok and Professor Flitwick in teh Harry Potter movies there and they young Boba Fett will be there as well. They will have exclusive items being sold in Tatooine Traders, characters will be walking around including Anakin and Count Dooku. They will have a special Who Wants to Be A Millionare - Play it! Star Wars version and cool things like Jedi Academy for little ones. I definitely think it will be worth it. I think they will also be showing some scenes from the third movie as well! :rotfl:

OK great. I need to get my DH to do the millionare game. He remembers all this stuff. I am a little older than him and saw the first one when it came out in the 70's but I can't remember all the stuff about these movies!!

Have you heard anything else about the possible Daniel Logan replacement for Week 1? Also, I talked to a CM yesterday and he mentioned a Hyperspace Hoopla but had no information on it. Can you fill us in?

Thanks!

Thanks QuickGold--good info!!!

Hyperspace Hoopla is the end of each day at Star Wars Weekends. It is a sing/dance intermingling of guests and dressed characters to signal the end of each day of SWWeekends. This happens at 6:30 each day in front of Star Tours. I've heard the same rumor about Daniel Logan. The Star Wars book site (www.randomhouse.com) has the author of Return of the Sith at MGM on the first weekend.

So, you don't need to be a Hyperspace Member (aka Official Star Wars Fan Club member) to participate?

p.s. A lot of people--us included!--caught a bad respiratoty virus at Celebration III, so that can be a consolation to you that you didn't go! (Didn't see George Lucas there, but it was a BLAST otherwise...)
