Yes, so I'll be that girl that admits - YES - she's obsessive with Star Wars.

OK. Now that that's out of the way.

Star Wars Weekends. There MUST be other Star Wars fans out there!

For anyone doing the CP program, what are the odds of having time off to go to Star Wars Weekends events...and what are the odds of being able to work some part of SW Weekends?

Thanks in advance!

i'm very jealous of you!! i would sooooo love to be there for star wars weekends. maybe i'll extend my program and stay for next year! :D

I am also a total Star Wars dork! =D I was Darth Vader for Halloween in 4th grade and remember people grumbling that Vader wasn't a girl, hehe. I am totally going to these, if I can get time off! They're gonna be awesome!

Browneyedgal, I have never been, but I believe they bring in actors from the movies, as well as have a Stormtrooper parade or something. Someone who's gone before will probably know more than I. :)

Thanks, that sounds awesome!!! :hyper:

I have to admit that I think the metal bikini that Princess Leia wore was HOT, and I've always wanted one for myself, heh :o..... Also, the Ewoks are soooooooo cute! But Yoda will always have a special place in my heart hehe :)

There are great YouTube videos from Star Wars Weekends including the official podcast of 2007 (NOt that I checked or anything...)

Every weekend in June, official Star Wars characters roam Disney's Hollywood Studios. There are parades, dance contests, Jedi training, photo ops, and, yes, stars from the movies come to do talk backs and sign autographs.

It has been my dream to go, but I was never able to get down there. I'm just wondering if it's possible to actually get to go, or if I'll be there and it'll just be a huge tease... :/

I'm a huge Star Wars fan as well, and this is something I really hope I can get time off to be a part of, at least to see Peter Mayhew, or Amy Allen......

I'm in merchandise, so maybe I'll work at Tattooine Traders and get to see the whole thing from a different perspective, that would be awesome.

Yeah, I saw that line up on the Disney World page. It sounds like a really great line up this year!

Has anyone else been to the previous SWWs?

yes, we went in May 2004 and luckily enough, we found out after we booked that we'd be able to go to the Star wars weekends.

Husband buys the plush, crystal, pins, shirts and coins from every year.

I have! I have gone 2005-2007. They are soooo much fun. I can't wait to attend this summer (I really want to meet Warwick Davis).

I went to sww a while ago, so i don't really remember a whole lot, but i know i got my pic with chewy.lol, ( we used to have a dog named chewbacca). :goodvibes. But i can't wait to see if i too have some time off to go and check it out. It does sound like a good group, i love the ewoks. :lovestruc

If you want to work SWW, check the Extra Hours Hotline. They post a lot of shifts for crowd control for various events. It'd probably be listed under "Production" or "Special Events"

Most of the shifts usually get posted about a week in advance.

i'm going for the first time! i'm going to disney for my b-day and my best friend and i are staying for opening day. i have no clue what to expect, but i am so excited to finally be going for star wars weekend. does anyone have any suggestions or anything i should know before i go?

I was there last year - Jedi Training Camp was so neat.

I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan! Preparing to go to my second Star Wars weekends this year! I can't wait because this time I'll be celebrating my B-Day at the same time! YAHOO!

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and honestly I was there last summer during Star Wars Weekends, and didn't find it all that impressive. The only real thing they have going on are the parades and the Jedi Academy, I would have liked to have seen some more Star Wars themed events going on. I am however going to DW next Friday (the 16th) and from what I've been told they're going on again right now, so maybe they upped the ante a little.
