We're going to our first Star Wars weekend (June 3rd and 4th) and trying to get as much advice as we can. We have a 5 yr old and 7 yr old and all 4 of us are BIG fans (Disney and Star Wars). Any advice on what time to get there? What to do first? Where to sit for the parade? Age appropriate must do activities? Anything anyone can tell us is appreciated. We are new at this discussion board thing.

subscribing...I too would like any info. possible.

Thank you for the site! It has a lot of good info. Have you personally been during SWW and think there is anything handy to know that isn't in the books or on the net?

Oh man, We arive the afternoon/evening of June 11 and there is not a sww the following weekend when we will be there.

Man, how sad. My kids got me a Boba Fette hat last time we were there. I didn't even know about the Star Wars stuff until we turned a corner and I saw the big Imperial Walker in front of me. I still don't know how my wife kept that one from me. :lmao:

We will have a great time anyway. :cool1:

We were there last year, and are going back this year. It is a lot of fun, and there is something for everyone. We went to the "Star Wars-Who Wants To Be a Millionaire Show" - fantastic. We went to the AM parade - great!! The character interaction is truly funny. Worth the wait for Jedi Mickey, Darth Vader, etc. The SWW soveniers usually sell out quickly so get there early. (Last year we bought t-shirts, and Jedi Mickey beanie, but we had to order our Darth Mickey because he was sold out.) Have fun!

With boys that age you absolutely HAVE TO try to get them chosen for Jedi Training! They do it multiple times a day on a stage right outside of Star Tours. My DS5 was chosen for the first time last year to participate and it is something that he will not soon forget!!!!!

Sorry you'll miss the SWW weekend, but on the brighter side, the Imperial Walker, (and plenty of Star Wars merchandise) is always there:thumbsup2

Like Bob said, http://sww.mgmstudios.org/main is a good place to start. Get to the parks early (at least 30 minutes before opening) if only to see the hillarious Storm Troopers on the roof, sign up for trivia events and such right at park opening and buy any merchandise (especially limited edition stuff) right away as last year they were gone quickly.

Any place you recommend to sit on the parade route? Sounds like we definitely need to get there early. We also need to figure out what to get a FP to first. We are all about the Fast Passes!

When we were at MGM in December, we had pics of the kids taken where they superimpose them into a Star Wars picture. We got a poster and found out we can get them made into T-shirts too. Someone suggested that we have the kids wear the shirts and have the characters sign the shirts. Thought that was a cool idea!

We were there last year for it only cause they extended the weekends longer then posted it went like two extra weekends so you might get lucky. As for must dos you Must do the Jedi Academy its so cool to watch your kids face off against vader r Darth maul.......

My oldest girl just loves Darth Maul, she is also quite comfortable on stage so she would really get into that! :thumbsup2

Let's hope it all works out. I'm not worrried, it'll be a great trip. :grouphug:

You got to get there early just to see the stormtoopers walking in the overhead ticket entrance they put on quite a show. Also make sure you see the show at the end of the day it is great. Also if you see something you like get it then because as soon as the weekend is over they put everything up until the next weekend.Have fun and may the force be with you. pirate: pirate:

Just so you know....characters cannot and will not sign Tshirts that are being worn. If you want a Tshirt signed make sure they just take it with them that day. They will sign hats that you are wearing though....

My favorite place is there are these half walls in front of the celebrity heads to the right of Sounds Dangerous. You can sit on the walls and no one can get infront of you. You can arrive 1/2 hour before the parade and there is usually one available.

Good to know about the t-shirts. We'll just bring them in our backpack.

Thank you for the parade advice! My daughter is only 40" tall and it would be nice for her to have an unobstructed view for once. :)

Thank for sharing the pics. Were they doing some of the SWW stuff to promote the weekends? Cannot wait for June!

Thanks for the pix of the Jedi Training Academy. Can't wait until my DS is old enough to do it. :)

Has anyone heard anything yet about the schedule of guest appearances for each weekend? I've been checking several sites and still haven't seen anything. DH and I saw Daniel Logan a few years ago - it would be fun to see him again.
