Star Wars Weekends 2007

Hi, My family wants to go to Star Wars weekends in 2007. Is it held the same time every year? We want to make our reservations for the room. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

For the last several years SW Weekends have been the later part of May and Early June, assuming they have them in 2007. There was one year (maybe 2 years ago) there were no SW Weekends.

Having Star Wars fans for kids I can say that the weekend is always around the same time. I have taken my kids the last 3 years. The schedule as to who will be there comes out at the last minute though making planning hard. I can't imagine there not being one next year being it will be the 30th anniversary.

We just went a few weeks ago and two things stuck out....it was very hot and very crowded....but my son loved it.


Get there at 8am or 9am whenever it opens and fast pass everything. Take a siesta at the drive in movie diner and then go back for more when the sun starts to drop.

Star Wars Weekends used to be every weekend in May and now they are carrying them into June. Your best bet would be to book something for a weekend in late May. I don't think dates are usually released until a few months in advance.

The first time we made DVC reservations specifically for Star Wars Weekends was the year they didn't have them. When we found out, we cancelled. I had booked at 11 months because we wanted to be at the BW, because of its proximity to MGM. I believe this was the year either before or after Episode 1 was released. I think the reason was that there were so many other Star Wars things going on around the country all the Star Wars people were busy with other things. From what I have seen, the SW characters that appear in the parks during this time are not Disney cm's.

This year my guys decided they wanted to go after the schedule was released. They had a specific weekend they wanted to go so we just booked cash rooms on short notice. We were out of points for this year anyway. Honestly this is probably the best way to do SWW if you'd like to pick your weekend after the celebrity guests have been announced.

My main question is the date that it starts. Is it always the weekend after mothers day? We are looking to fly down and I want to start looking for cheap airfair, as well as looking for rooms.
