Star wars weekend

Star War Weekends are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In the past the parade was at 3:00 PM.

Thanks for the update. I'm pretty sure we could be there in plenty of time for the parade at 3pm EST. Now I guess just have to wait for the official news for all the details for this year. =)

We went last year for the 3rd SWW (the first part of June). DS7 is a HUGE HUGE HUGE SW fan. DH is a HUGE HUGE HUGE SW fan. Me, I can take it or leave it. They absolutely LOVED it. Me and the DS3 not quite as much. It was SO HOT. In fact, we said never again in June. So much for those SWW! We were happy we did it once but I don't know if we'll go back again. We are so spoiled by traveling in the fall that summer about killed us!

If you plan to meet the "characters", plan on spending lots of time in line. We didn't do any of the special meet and greets with the celebrities, just the characters. DS7 didn't care about meeting the celebrities at all. But did he ever want to get that photo op with Darth Vader & Boba Fett!! Darth Vader's line was never less than an hour but luckily they did have him under canopy so you didn't have to stand in the sun like several of the other characters.

The stormtroopers on top of the gate at opening is a highlight of the weekend. Go early though because they are only there for around a half hour after opening (at least last year).

We enjoyed the special event (indoors & air conditioned--woo hoo!) where Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) interviewed several other characters including Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca). And the parade was really cool with all the stormtroopers leading the way.

If you can get into Disney Studios before park opening is it worth it? We have an opportunity to have breakfast in the park before it opens to the public? I was thinking that this would put us ahead of the masses. What do you think?

Although the WDW website has not added the dates to the Star Wars' Event page, the Mom's Panel is giving the dates as starting the weekend of May 20th through the weekend of June 13th.

Dates officially announced yesterday .... see the info on the DIS blog. We booked a trip for DH and DS to go for the first weekend in celebration of DS's 13th birthday. Got great flights out of Boston. Calling MS today to find a studio - probably OKW or SSR at this point. Should be a fun father/son trip for them!

The Disney Parks Blog released the dates, in addition to Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) being there for the first two weekends another Clone Wars star is returning.

Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano, in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” will appear each weekend this year as Celebrity Host of a behind-the-scenes talk show entitled “Clone Wars: Behind the Force.”

No other details have been released. And the WDW website is still not updated with the confirmed dates.

Okay, I admit that I have never been and this year will be our first Star Wars experience. Everything that I have come across says that the Star Wars parade is at 11:30ish?

we're going to be there too!! Last full day there for us is the 20th so I know where I'll be at 08:30!!!!

We were there last year and the parade was definitely in the morning. We went straight to lunch after the parade, so 11:30 sounds about right.
