My 5 year old son is a Star Wars fanatic, much like I was when I was his age. I want to take him to one of the upcoming Star Wars Weekends they have at the Hollywood Studios (MGM).

Any advice on what to do, where to be, etc from those who have done one of these would be appreciated.

and for those who have been--is it A LOT more crowded for those weekends than during the week. I have a 6 yr old and am wondering if it is "worth it" to wait to go to DHS on the Friday for Star WArs--or is it a lot more crowded (our date would be later June)?

we are going to SWW also. We will be there for opening weekend too. FWIW, we are planning on doing the Sunday.

DNeph (10) and I have attended SWW for the last 3 years (when he was 7,8, and 9).:thumbsup2 We always went the first or 2nd weekend in June. It was hot and crowded - but we LOVED it!! There is a ton of great info on previous years (including pics, schedules, touring tips and weekend reports) on QuickGold's site: http://sww.studioscentral.com/main/
We would spend Friday, Sat AM and Sun at the studios - highlights for DNeph were the Jedi Training academy, being in the parade, being in the padawan trivia contest, getting pics and autographs from all the characters. We also really enjoyed the celebrity 'talk show' - if you can go on a weekend when Ray Parks (Darth Maul) is there - he was FABULOUS !! It's a great special event for us SW fans - we'll be skipping it for the next couple of years (harder to take them out of school as they get older) - hope it continues to grow so we can return in the future!:darth: :yoda:

plan to wait a lot. I mean a ton more than normal just to do meets/pic/autographs. That's something you'd have to prepare your DS for. Also if your DS gets nervous or anything about the weirder characters you might want to review pics of the characters that are there and how they look.

But I'm sure he will have a TON of fun if he's a Star Wars fan. My DH took our DS last year when he was 2.5 and they trucked it all over and meet as many characters as possible...of course my 2yr old mostly slept the entire time! LOL
