Hi again all, my family and i got back two weeks ago from a fab week long vacation at the world. My son is an extreme star wars freak... read my past posts.. Anyway, today i some how talked DH into letting me bring him to star wars weekend... IM going back!!!! Tell me that its really worth it.. My son has had such a hard year with being hospitalized and new school... Tell me that im not crazy? :teeth: Eileen

We love star wars weekend.
Search around here or over at allearsnet . com They have previous
information about the star wars weekends.

If you wait and don't go the first weekend. Then you can search around the boards, or other internet places. People will post what the schedules were like and were the star wars characters were like, and if they characters are in different places than the previous years.
That alone helped us out. They had characters over in another section, and because I read about it online before, we were able to get a lot done, before masses of people figured out they were in more than one section. Who knows if they will have all that staffing, as last year was the movie opening.

Last year was total crazy crazy crowded, but that was because its was a movie out that year.

Be prepared for long lines to get pictures. Lots of people dress up. We've been a couple different years. Some people are die hard fans (the ones that dress up). I even recognized some of those people from year to year.

Its a good time, we would be going this year too , but we have a wedding toward the beginning of the star wars weekends. Me and the sun had a rough time because of new medicine so we leave next friday when it won't be quite so warm

We took our autistic son (6) two years ago and it was the highlight of our trip. He loves and lives for 2 things, Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean. He waited so patiently (which for my son is like asking a blind man to see) for the parade to start. We were right on the edge and when he saw Darth Vader pass by, it sent him into orbit. A little later on in the parade, Jango Fett (my son's ultimate FAV!!) was on the other side of the road and, I swear I don't know what made him stop and turn to my son, but he stopped, looked at my son (who was flapping - an autistic trait- like mad), cupped his gun and sorta of gave him a nod and tilted his weapon to the sky as if to say, Hey Buddy, what's up. Well if that wasn't enough, he then walked over to my son and shook his hand. The look on my son's face was worth every dollar we paid and about a million more. The whole day was filled with magic and excitement for our family. Yes some of the events like the autograph signing were long but we bypassed those. We hit so many pictures with characters from the movies at just the right time, it seemed like there was "a force" if you pardon the pun, guiding us through the day. For us, it was one of those memories that will be in all of our hearts forever.

I say go....have a great time..and may the force be with you
