Star Wars Weekend Tips 2012

As far as I know the autograph FPs are not linked to attraction FPs in any way. I don't see how they could be.

Me either. But I had a sudden panic. :) The way I understand it, you stand in the autograph line, don't need to show park admission, and when you get your wristband, FP, you go into the general park admission line, yes?

Thanks Mesaboy2!

Bingo! :thumbsup2

Maybe a dumb question, but is the Darth Mall located inside of the park? A pic I saw of it on allearsnet looked like it was in a parking lot.

Yes, but technically no. It is in a backstage area next to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.

So, We got back from our long weekend at Disney yesterday. We drove up from Miami on Friday afternoon, went to DHS on Saturday for SWW, and then Sunday went to Epcot.

We arrived at DHS at 5:45am (still dark outside) and the line was ridiculously long for Ray Park. He was doing 2 sessions, a morning and afternoon signing. At about 6:30am the CMs started handing out wristbands with the date on them. Even though the line seemed very long we got wristbands which according to the CM was a guaranteed in. We were let in to the park before 8am and given fast passes for the signing. Our return time was 2:15pm-2:25pm.

I'm a bit confused. Did girli565 go into the park w/the wristbands and obtained the actual fast passes then or is it the same procedure like last year? Wristbanded, then fastpasses, then with your park ticket enter the park?

same as last year...make the line to the right of the turnstiles, CMs wristband you and then you get a fp...then you make the line to go thru the turnstiles.

What magic shots are available to do besides the Darth Vader picture?

What magic shots are available to do besides the Darth Vader picture?

I think Vader is the only Star Wars magic shot. Others are holding balloons, Stitch coming out of the ground, Tink on hand, cuddling Simba (at AK), sitting on a bench with a character, soarin' above you (EC), etc. Stitch Kingdom has a good example of magic shots under their photopass section.

Thanks I was hoping for something else star wars :)

We've been to Disney a few times but never SWW. We have 9yo and 7yo daughters and a 2.5 yo son all of whom love star wars so this will be a surprise trip and leave the day school lets out.

I'm wondering if we will be able to do the following in one day.

1. TSM
2. Star Tours
3. Picture with Vader
4. Picture with Star Wars Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald (Is there one line for all of them or do you have to get in individual lines like AK?)
5. Parade

We usually go during off season so won't be used to the large crowds but do know we will take it slow and keep the kids entertained in the lines.

Based on what I've read, yes I believe so. FPs for TSM and ST will go a long way to helping you reach this goal. Your biggest frustration may be with getting pictures with the characters you have listed in 4. It's one line, but they rotate. The characters appearing will likely change once or even twice from the point you enter the queue.

This will be my first SWW and my first trip to Disney World. I've been to Disneyland 46 times though!

I had a couple of questions:

1. Do the celebs always have a photo onhand to sign or do I need to bring in an item? Do they sign outside items?

2. When we line up in the morning for autograph fastpasses, are the lines divided up by celebrity or is it one long line and the CMs ask you who you are in line for?

Thanks!

I'll be there the last weekend.

Like Mesaboy said, doing the rides will be the easy part, Darth Vader's line gets long and stays long all day so I would recomend getting there at park opening (8am) before would be better since they are likely to open before 8am, ride TSM, grab FP for ST get in line for Vader and then make the line for the Fab 4...if there are 2 adults one could start the line for fab4 while the other makes the line about 10 families back, the characters rotate every 20min. or so...this way first adult with kids gets picture lets say with Jedi Mickey, then the kids can get back in line with the second adult for the next character and so on. Grab a spot early for parade.

1.- Celebs have a B&W photo they could sign for you, they sign just about everything...I've ahd calendars, backpacks, shirts, hats, posters, toys, etc.
2.- The are divided up by celebs...here's a video I took this past Saturday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xvAvu_PHP4&list=UUarxr8vv__ZzTNGkYWPTUuw&index=1&feature=plcp

The photopass website will have about 3-4 different Star Wars Weekend borders though that I've used. If you don't have a photopass account and are curious, look in the photopass store on HS main street to check them out.
