Question for those who have been to HS on a SWW day, but are not necessarily there for the SWW activities - how does the fact that it is SWW affect the crowds for the non-SWW rides, shows, etc? I'm having a hard time figuring out which day to go to HS on our trip in May, but the weekend we're there is obviously a SWW. Are the crowds terrible?

Thanks so much! :goodvibes

We were there for the first weekend this past May and all the other rides were pretty crazy. RNR had an 80 min wait, Toy Story 120 min, TOT was like 80 min. It was packed IMO.

Agree with PP. We were there on the 2nd Friday of SWW and it was pretty full. We made a beeline for TSM right off and waited about 45 minutes for that. For various reasons, we didn't get to do RNRC or ToT that day, and the waits were incredibly long. We did manage to do Star Tours with FP, see the Muppet movie, and a friend took my oldest to see ST again while I took my youngest to Playhouse Disney. Even the Great Movie Ride had a long wait. We bailed mid-afternoon for Epcot.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking that maybe Friday would be a little less busy but maybe not? We arrive on a Friday AM during what I'm assuming will be a SWW and I was hoping to do a half a day at DHS but now I'm rethinking my plans.

Well, I was hoping for a different answer from y'all, but I'm glad to know the scoop. No HS during SWW for us!

Thanks so much!

We went to the first 2 SWW all 3 days last year (in hopes one day would be less crowded, had heard friday and sunday were best, they weren't much different) and it was a nut house each day and not just around the SWW events. I cannot see the crowds being worth it unless you are a pretty big fan, I would avoid it at all costs if you are not going for the speical events.

If they keep the same weekends, then Star Wars Weekends will be the last two weekends in May and the first two weekends in June. Disney has been know to move dates around. They probably will not post the dates untill after the 1st of January.

If you have no real interest in Star Wars then I would skip DHS on the weekend.

What we noticed was that Fantasmic really impacted HS during SWW. It was already busy by the nature of the event - although we didn't necessarily have a hard time getting on attractions (given we started at TSM at rope drop) and we usually skip ToT and RnRC - but we could have done those with fast pass. SWW days that had Fantasmic that night - HORRIFIC!!!!!!!!!!

We were there over 3 weekends - mostly for SW stuff. Spent a total of 9 days going over to HS and on a couple of those days that was just going to get a specific autograph and leaving because it was miserable with the crowds and heat.
