Star Wars Weekend 07 (Merchandise Info. added)

The only thing I can think of is they dont want to announce unitl they have a detailed list of events. They can at least throw us a bone and let the people know the dates. I am sure that some people might plan certain weekends for certain events. For use we dont care, just want the Star Wars experience.

I have to completely agree with this. My boys are going to be thrilled to in the mix. They watched the whole Rose Bowl Parade to be able to watch the Star Wars section, (we are not big parade people). Honestly, my children will just want character autographs not the actually actors. Their just not interested in that kind of thing. Currently they are extremely excited to be able to make their own light sabers. Our dates are looking good though, (yours too dobtia, I think our dates are similiar)!

I'm telling you.... Star Wars Weekends will be held in June, not May/June as was done in the past....

I'm not giving up hope until the dates are officially released. It would be RIDICULOUS of them to do that if you are correct.

Was at MGM at the end of October and went to Star Tours early in the AM and was given a Magical Dream to go behind the scenes of the ride! The ride MGR said we were the first family to get the dream, my 2 DS's 9 & 6 were crazy excited anyway along story short I asked about SWW for 07 and the MGR said due to the response the past couple years that it was being held the ENTIRE month of June! Also said they've been trying to get George Lucas to approve a new ride but it's a $$$ issue.:)

If what Master Grayson says is correct they extended through June because it's so popular. That, to me, seems like they are keeping it the same, just extended it. Perhaps the reason why we keep hearing June is because it's only going to be a couple of weekends in May and ALL of June.

I am really trying to hold on to any hope that it will be Memorial Day weekend!!!

I suspect that the dates will be changed to June only out of respect for George Lucas and the Star Wars Celebration in LA at the end of May. The Star Wars celebration will be the focus of all things Star Wars, and most of the celebrities will be there. It dosen't make sense for Disney to program against that, and try to lure celebrities away from that weekend. It also would not make sense to have SWW for a week or two, then stop for the weekend of Star Wars Celebration, and then restart again. Also, if I remember correctly, George actually nixed SWW completely one year when he felt it would compete with his event, so I am just happy that we will have it at all.

He did indeed 'nix' SWW in 2002. We had plans to go with other family members & by the time we found out about the cancellation, it was too late to change our plans. We had a good time at Disney, but my son was SO disappointed that we missed SWW. We were planning on May this year, but will go in June if that's when SWW is held. I'd pretty much bet the bank that it will be June. The major kick-off 'celebration' will be the one in L.A. and I agree that Disney will not try to compete with that.

Another FYI...when SWW was cancelled in 2002, all the travel guides still had it listed. I think many of them just update from year to year, assuming that everything will stay the same.

The wife told me and the son about making the lightsabers the other day. We are geeked up to say the least. And it was a great trade off. We each get lightsabers (or saders if you believe the four year old), and she wants a Mr. Potato Head. Now the only real question is will he be ready to ride Star Tours.

Trying to plan a Disney trip for a family of 4 & 2 friends, and no SOLID DATES for Star Wars Weekends!
I am trying to rent DVC points, but if I pick the wrong weekend, I will be stuck!

Does ANYONE know any dates for SURE?

That is exactly the reason why SWW in Disney World wil lbe held every weekend in June.

I'm hoping they will move it earlier in may or split it early may and early june.. Were heading there early may lol and yes I will be buying one of them lightsabers lol

Latest word is SWW will not compete with Celebration IV, so I imagine it will be June only, or possibly the first weekend or two of July, but that's pushing it. Look for something more concrete (read: dates) before the end of February.

If you take a look at mgm hour page the extra magic hours has been moved from the usual friday to saturday in the late april I beleive and early may. The last weekend in may it was put back to fri.As the big selibration in cal is that weekend. I figure this is a good sign for the ppl going in may.

We will be there in June and are hoping it will still be going on...sounds like it might just be beginning then...

I keep hearing June only.... but someone else told me mid May to Mid June as usual... I don't know what to believe anymore.... I guess we have to just wait until the dates are officially announced.....

There has been some recent info. posted on other Disney message boards that indicates that SWW will only be in June for '07. These posters say they are "in the know". Anyway, it would seem that Disney and Lucasfilm would announce the dates so people planning to attend can make their travel plans!

on a Star Wars fansite, it said their Disney sources say it will be held May - June---maybe just with Memorial Day Weekend off since that would be the same weekend of CIV.

We're booked May 13-20, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It will be our 3rd SWW and they're fantastic!!!!

Alright. More speculation...DBF just sent me this picture from a Star Wars discussion forum where they are also speculating the dates. This is a AAA document sent to someone and it states that SWW is April - May!!

If this is true, I'm guessing it will end before Memorial Day weekend, considering that celebration in California. There are too many sources that all say different things so I won't believe anything until I actually see it on the Disney website.

This is driving me nuts!

Dates should be out in February, no later than March. My understanding is Disney and LucasFilms is working out final details and the contracts.

Hey Folks: The February '07 Mickey Monitor (annual passholder newsletter) has Star Wars Weekends listed for every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in June. Looks like May is out for this year.

I posted this under the "Star Wars rumors" thread but thought I'd post this on a new one so everyone would see the info.

I received my February '07 Mickey Monitor (annual passholder newsletter) yesterday and it has Star Wars Weekends listed for every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in June. Looks like May is out for this year.

There's is still not a confirmation on either the Disney World or Star Wars sites.
