Star Wars Tales Of The Arcolyte

I thought she was apparating them both to safety.

On the same thought, what happened to Mother Koril after she de materialized?

C team? Except Indara. Didn’t her jedi mind trick wipe out the entire group controlling Kelnacca? I’d have to rewatch, but I think she simulated snapped their necks?

Overall, I liked the episode. I’d rather it focus on one story at a time then switching between characters too much. They could have edited the recaps down in comparison to the new content.

It seemed like they completely rewrote Mae’s reaction with the fire scene. She was more vicious when we first saw the scene. It made me think they were showing from Mae’s point of view because the last episode the twins both remember it differently. But the whole episode was suppose to be a retelling of the truth, not points of view.

Yes C Team. Let's recap the results the Jedi team accomplished. Looking for plants. Saw 2 girls. Were told by the council not to interfere, and that the twins were too old anyway so don't engage. Instead tried to steal the 2 girls. Killed the main mom. Then killed all the rest. Then lied to the council that Mae burned everybody in the cement rock fire. Then lied to Osha that Mae burned everybody in the cement rock fire. The end.

So.... here more thoughts

I think the comparison is between Sol and the stranger. The motivation is their desire/need for a student and Sol is needy and desperate for a student/acolyte... we see this with Indara teasing him and then he goes all hog when he sees the twins and is like THERE is my student... and does all this mental gymnastics to justify taking the twins... they are in danger (not) they are going to be sacrificed (not) and we see that same need when Qmir said all he wanted was a student too... it is the family cycle to them.. Torbin is a brat and seemed like he was cracking a bit under the Jedi pressure ... and Mother Anisaya messing with his head did not help.... he was like Dorothy at that point... home i just want to go home

I think when Mother Anisaya was talking about sacrifice it was not a literal sacrifice, but that you sacrifice for the good as a leader... I think the girls were being raised to be the next leaders and that ascension ceremony marked the continuation of their more advanced witchy training. Not so sure of the black mist... but it reminded me of when Mother Talzin would go green mist ethereal... maybe a way to move quickly to the danger. Osha was in.. just apparate there... until Sol stabbed her... got to give her credit for getting the last word... nice guilt move (chef's kiss MOther ANisaya)

I dont think the witches died when Indara released Kelnacca, just lost consciousness from the mental effort and then succumbed to the fire... I also dont think the complex was built by them, but maybe was part of the accident they mentioned that destroyed the planet's life... so that might have contributed to the explosions/fire

I have a feeling we have not seen the last of Mother Koril... she has some definite dark side tendencies asking Mae to get angry and tap into that... I cannot remember but I dont remember seeing her with the Kelnacca mind control witches

Flashback? They just replayed episode 1 (for a 3rd time) with a couple more details. How does a metal and cement mountain burn down by the way? How could anybody be that obsessed with 2 kids they literally just met? And this "Jedi" team seems like the "C Team" at best. I'm trying but just dont get any of this. Maybe the finale will....I don't even know what to wonder. Is there something we're even wondering will happen?

This episdoe showed it better - the fire got into the electrical/technology system running along the walls. I don't really know what that stuff is made of etc. but I guess there are some fire prone materials or energy sources that eventually got into their main reactor and caused an explosion.

I do think that the witches died from some kind of Force feedback. She didn't snap their necks nor did she do it intentionally, but fighting back at Kelnacca's mind-control made them feel it. That's why that witchy stuff is bad.

The disaster that ruined the planet is the Great Hyperspace Disaster from the High Republic books. I didn't read them, but basically a ship transporitng thousands was travelling in a well-established hyperspace lane when a sudden, huge obstacle was in their way. They hit it, and you know what happens when that goes down. Two large objects traveling hitting at lightspeed - it caused a lot of destruction since it was near populated areas. Anyway, that's the gist of it.

I place a lot of this blame on Mother Quarrel too. She was really itching for a fight. I had expected her to kill Mother Anisaya to prevent Osha from leaving.

I just finished binge watching this. All I can say is so so so bad.

Should have turned it off right at the beginning.
interesting choice to binge watch everything now before the last episode next week is released. I would have thought you would have waited until it ended if you wanted the cohesive full story to binge, I have enjoyed it myself and plan on doing a rewatch when the episodes are all out. Welcome to the DIS

Killing Star Wars using the death by 1000 cuts method. A Star Wars show that doesn’t even make the top 10 list of streaming shows ……SMH! I cannot believe Lucasfilm spent $180 million dollars on this hot garbage.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around that episode. But someone help me out here....they discovered a vergence in the force, found twins who were seemingly created by the force or created by manipulating the force, had a high "M" count, had matching "M" count, and the Jedi council was like nah its cool, no big deal?!?!?

Isn't the vergence what they were sent to find? They went to Brendok because there was something odd and forcey going on... that is why Torbin was being the angsty teen Jedi... Master I wanna go home... this place sucks, why are we here.... And THEN they discovered the fun twins... so I think the council knew about the potential vergence... the timing was such that I dont think the council knew the full story of the twins and their blood results. They knew there was force sensitive children and to leave them. But then crap hit the fan and Indara didn't want to tell everything, just the bare basics... Mae and the fire... the witches died and Osha remained.

I have generally enjoyed it, but it's been up and down. It definitely has pacing issues, but it's a minor quibble. I will admit that it all hinges on the finale - it really could be make or break.

I was wondering about the way it is set that there will be an intent for another season. I have a feeling Qmir is not going anywhere after next week....

"In a new interview with EW, showrunner Leslye Headland talks about season 2, though what that means for the storyline of season 1, if it does happen.

“I think you should put everything you can into the first season and give the audience a nice resolution that feels satisfying, but enough nods to mysteries that you would want to see a second season.”

They definitely need to "wrap it up" with Season 1. ALL shows shoudl do that, even if Season 2 is a given. You can always sow a few seeds for the continuing story, but each season should have a satisfying conclusion. Streaming shows often mess this up, especailly if they know they are going to continue.

YES!!!!! I hate that. Tell the story, finish . A few future seeds are fine. i am still salty about Raised by Wolves being cancelled after a season 2 cliffhanger

I did like this weeks opening scene though.

To be fair, they denied Anakin, too.

yeah but did they really? I just re-watched that scene, they certainly questioned Qui Gon...and were a bit skeptical even, but after like 20 seconds of some dialogue that could have easily been said about Mae/Osha, they say bring him before us. You don't think they would have wanted to deep dive the habitants of a planet that was supposedly dead?

yeah, they tested him, and then said he would not be trained. They only reluctantly agreed for him to be Obi-Wan’s padawan after Qui-Gon died.

that is how I remember it too.. it took some real persuasion and then that fed into Anakin's resentment of the council later as well I felt.

I just dont think the Jedi council was quite so eager to take children against their family's will as I had originally accused them. If they were really young then yes, but older and especially when the parents are against it then i could see them passing. It was the way Indara said they (the council) already thought they interfered too much as it was when they first refused the twins.
