Just curious....does anyone know where one might get a Star Wars shirt OFF SITE (prior to arrival) to help get a little kid picked for Jedi Training?

I'm late in the game on this one, we leave on Friday, so it would have to be somewhere I could go....

Or, do they carry them at all out the outlet store near the park? We have a "day off" due to black out day on Saturday so I could pick up one then too.

Thanks!

maybe target or hot topic.

The online lego storehas star wars lego ones that are great! They attract attention.

ok....for those who made signs....what did your sign SAY?

Hello! Yes, signs seemed to help. We went with our twins and both were picked. One sign read "Like Luke, I'm a twin too!" and the sign for his brother, who is physically disabled and was in his wheelchair, read "Jedi on wheels". They were very simple and just on 11"X14" paper that I had rolled up and placed in our knapsack.

I think any sign helps to attract attention, but most importantly, it is a sign of enthusiasm - but so is arriving early and jumping up and down. I think the CM's are looing for the kids who are conveying that taking part is something that is important to them. I also think the earlier and later shows are less busy.

Have fun!

So, just guessing the lego store in DTD would probably have some cool lego starwars shirts too!

My sign wasn't very original, but we went to the first show of the day, and my DS6 was picked first::thumbsup2

"THE FORCE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE!" (with a large arrow pointing downward)

For girls, I saw some signs with the words: "PADAWAN PRINCESS"

ITA, it also really helps to show plenty of enthusiasm!

Here is a thread from The Hound.

May the Force Be With You! :darth:

HTH :earsboy:

I dunno if I read it here or not....

I was thinking of "Cuter than an Ewok" for my DD.

No clue for DS, which is why I was hoping to find a shirt.

Thanks for the Kohl's lead, I will check there tomorrow!

Guess I need to start watching for more Star Wars shirts. My two love SW even though I could live without it. Signs sound like they could be fun to make with the boys.

Good luck to other possible Jedis in training.

Ditto about Target.....I got a black lego Star Wars one there very recently.....in the little boys/big boys section. The t-shirts folded up in cubbies on the wall, not hanging on a rack. I have seen them at Walmart as well, but I'm not sure what they have right now. And yes.......someone posted above about the DTD Lego Store having Star Wars t-shirts. They are cute ones. Also....the big Disney Store (World of Disney??) in DTD has a Star Wars section.....perhaps they sell shirts as well.

DS has a few Lego Starwars shirts, bought a couple at Wal*Mart and a couple at Shopko. He was wearing a Darth Vader/Death Star shirt last Sept. (we did not have a sign) when he was picked for Jedi Training.

We were lucky and my son got picked just by jumping up and down and pointing at himself. Of course, I was pointing at him too! BUT, I saw several signs that simply said....PICK ME!!!!! I thought those were cute!

FYI....

I hit target today, found a black Star Wars lego shirt for 7.99. I figured that was a lot cheaper than buying one in the park.

Now to come up with some cool signs. I figure that might be a good "in the car project" for our 7 hour drive down.

That's great that you found a shirt.:) Have fun making the signs! They work well to get the kids noticed from a distance. My DS was picked 2nd and both of them had signs. Good Luck! :)

If we had done our sign on a "7 hour drive".....then we would have had 6 hours & 57 minutes to sightsee after finishing the sign. ;)

Really...don't knock yourself out on the sign (unless you just want to). Having any kind of sign will do the trick.

Good luck. :thumbsup2

:smooth: We were at Disneyland in December and again 2 weeks ago and DGS got picked for Jedi training both times. He also got picked for Turtle Talk and High School Musical at DCA. We think it's because he's so cute but he also wears glasses and wonder if maybe that helped him stand out.

Katink

My son has actually done Jedi before......and he was picked for Turtle Talk once. Interestingly enough.....he also wears glasses and is very small for his age and is pretty cute :goodvibes

Since we are going at a busier time (end of this week) I just wanted him to have an "edge" if possible. Plus, I'm hoping DD will want in on the action (she was riding Nemo with cousins last time) and I'd just be super duper happy if they BOTH got picked!

As for our signs....I'm hoping that is a project the KIDS will work on, not me, another "keep them busy" activity that hopefully helps stop the "are we there yets?" We got the new mini van with swivel and go seating and a table, they should have plenty of room!
