I want to surprise my husband with a stay at the new resort once it opens. Does anyone know when it’s projected to open and what the rates will be like? Any info is appreciated. Thank you!

I dont recall opening date, but know Ive heard its a 3-day interactive experience (role play) and starts at something like $3,500?
Think of it like a 3-day cruise... you can chose from the available 3-day adventures.

No opening date announced, but the rumor is sometime in 2021 as part of the 50th anniversary celebration. The pricing is likewise in the rumor rather than confirmed stage but the prices I saw were $3,300 for one person for the 3-day stay, with some sort of variable amount added on for additional people in a room such that a room with 5 people (the maximum) would be $7,200.

I think they might have some framing done? But yeah I don't expect that thing to be open for at least a couple years.

Yup - and as mentioned it is NOT a resort the way other Disney hotels are resorts. You are booking a 3 day/2 night "space cruise" where you will be fully immersed in a storyline on "board" - meaning you basically don't leave the hotel at all until you check out, with the exception of a few hours visiting Batuu (and Batuu only - not the rest of Hollywood Studios). Pricing has been pegged around $3K per person with lower pricing for parties of 4 that will fill a cabin. Just something to keep in mind when you're planning your vacation - if you want to visit the other parks at all, or have a longer vacation, you will need to book park tickets and a resort separately from the SW hotel experience.
