Will there be character buffets at the Star Wars Resort?

I would doubt it. It really does not fit with the theming of the adventure on the the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Resort and the Interactive role play. You and your party are part of the Characters in each dinning option.

Maybe in version IV.

The posted itineraries make it sound you only leave the hotel to do a couple of one-time rides at the Star Wars exhibit. I wonder how many people will go on this type of vacation and then never plan to leave the hotel for the 2-3 days they are there? The schedule seems too rigid and I doubt everyone will want to do exactly the same things for the length of times allocated. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

I would assume Disney employees serving the food will be dressed in costumes appropriate to the venue.

Given that you check in at 1 PM on day 1 and check out at 9 AM on day 3, to me it’s really a day and a half. And guests will be (should be, anyway) there for the experience of being immersed in a Star Wars storyline, not for visiting parks and lounging around a swimming pool. The itinerary given is just a sample; Disney could easily take different groups of passengers down to Batuu at different times of day and could potentially add experiences to RotR and MFSR that park guests don’t have a chance to experience. Hopefully the people who book this will have read all the pages of the website, not just the first one, or there will be a lot of confusion and disappointment when they find they can’t go to MK for fireworks on one of their nights!

Guests are not locked inside the hotel. They are quite free to go anywhere in the evening or at any point in their stay. Many guests that have the funds for this adventure get to chose to stay immersed in the experience or engage in any outside activities for all of their group or maybe just part of the group.

I would call this a perfect split-stay type of vacation even though Disney does not use the term split-stay.

It is clear that you get 1 one day single park HS ticket per guest for day 2 based in the sample itinerary. But if you have an AP or upgrade to a something like a Parkhopper or Multi-day ticket you certainly can pop over to MK or more likely Epcot to see the new fireworks.

Yes, I guess you could - but if you're paying nearly $5000 for two people for a day and a half, wouldn't you want to stay immersed in the environment? I think this experience will be for people like the members of the 501st Legion - when DH and I saw their march at Star Wars Weekend, I was amazed.

However I could see that in a family group of 5 some of the group might not have a 100% love for the immersive experience once inside but still want to share part of the adventure as a group for select activities.

If I were the one footing the bill for this expensive day-and-a-half, I might not be inclined to include someone who didn't want to tough it out for that entire short period of time!
