For anyone that has been to Star Wars Night, are all the rides open and running during the event?

Not necessarily. See the thread about the Throwback and Star Wars events. The cited Disney blog article mentioned some specific rides that might not be available.

Not all the rides are open, but the ones that are had really short lines when I went to Star wars nite. The only line that was too long for was Splash (That was late in the night, too.).

Adding a question on this thread...Do they shut down all of Disneyland for the Star wars event or just Galaxies Edge? We have park rezzies for DL on both May 2 and May 4th. Im a huge Star wars fan but the price seems quite high so im not sure if I want to try for tickets or not fo rthe 3 of us. If we dont do the event would not be happy to get kicked out early.

All of DL park. The party starts at 9, so DL likely will close for day guests at 8 pm. If you do not have a wristband you will not be able to ride attractions, etc and will be moved toward the exit.

All the park closes to non-event tickets at 8pm. They set up checkpoints and start checking wristbands at 8pm and will funnel guests to the exit by telling guests to turn around. At 8pm they also check wristbands before entering lines.
