Star Wars Land to be WDW's answer to Harry Potter?

Ah but they'd ruin it from day one. How? Railings. They would have to put in railings. And there goes the reality of the Death Star.

I like how in the new movie they still don't use railings. "Long bridge over a practically bottomless pit? Nah, we don't need railings or anything." I think it's obvious that safety is NOT job 1 in the Empire (or theFfirst Order)!

We took babies to Disney. I won't take my kids to Universal until they're 10-12 or so.

It IS a long time. Why won't you take them???? Like I said above, DS was 6 and a half, and he loved the place!

I agree. There was another recent thread about taking 3yos on Star Tours. At first I was surprised, but then realized it's so easy to underestimate kids. If youngsters can go on Star Tours, they can do a lot of the stuff at Universal. There's are rides geared to them, ET, Seuss, Pteranodon Flyers, even the Flight of the Hippogriff.

Granted, Universal can be said to be targeting the teen audience. But expecting that kids have to be over 10 to enjoy it is like saying that teens or adults can't enjoy the MK because it's geared to younger kids.

Rowling needed control - she didn't turn down Disney. They turned her down. And I don't think HP went up faster than NFL. They both took 2-3 years.

I think the notion that high speed thrill rides is not what Disney is, makes the most sense. Disney is smart in that they get kids hooked at such a young age, because there's SOOOOO much for them to do. In the very young eyes of children, it truly is magical. Once they're hooked (like I was as a young kid), they tend to stay hooked for life (like I am). Good thinking and planning.

We took babies to Disney. I won't take my kids to Universal until they're 10-12 or so. That's a long time to miss out on in the life of a kid.
My 4 year old daughter loved Universal when we took her a few years ago! The Curious George area, Dr. Seuss land, Fievel's play land and Barney were huge hits. She was also able to go on E.T. and a few other rides. If Harry Potter had been there, she would have had even more to do. Please don't assume your kids won't like Universal until they are 10-12. BTW, we are locals now, and my husband is a CM at WDW. We do love Disney, but Universal is amazing too.
