Star Wars land Rumor- Reported by Disney Gossip

starwars land, maybe combo starwars/indy land would be great. I am sure its in the heads of imaginers, plus George Lucs and would fit nicely in that parking lot by the indy stunt show and star tours.

As others stated this idea of star wars land or BK at DAK will never happen with the current TDO admins along with Bob Iger, Tom Staggs in place. Now, If someone who has a passion for creativity like John Lasseter is in charge you would see attractions such as a possible BK, Star Wars land move forward.

How about another DVC?

I say the rest of Echo lakes become Lucas Landing.

Indy Stunt show: Replaced by Indiana Jones Adventure

Sounds Dangerous: Replaced by Master Yodas Jedi Training: A screen attraction like Turtle Talk where guests interact with Yoda.

Back lot Restaraunt replaced by Temple of Doom Coaster. A new coaster not the Crap in DLP.

This would be awesome. I really like the Indy Stunt show. Even though i have seen it so many times

replace the Backlot Restaurant with a Mos Eisley Cantina

leave the Indy show and get rid of the LMA, which a waste of valuable real estate

Star Wars is about to become very hot again with the September 16th Blu Ray release and the films coming out in 3D theaters February 2012.....so I think this land idea is great!!! I did hear about a Star Wars themed shop/restaurant at Pleasure Island

Are you kidding me?

Listen...i grew a diehard star wars fan...i think i've had at least 3 copies of the original 3 movies on VHS and one on DVD...i even bought the putrid second set on DVD...

but that is done...the geeks will go out and buy the blurays on the first day and make it look like somekinda craze with a shelf life the length of a day at best buy...heck, i might even buy em on a whim at some point....

but this is just another thinly veiled cash grab.

Its not going to make star wars "big" again. it has its fans...it's lost some fans. Nothing is changing

Has George milked Star Wars to death? Absolutely.

But what other toy franchise that still gets 6' of shelf space at WalMart, Target and every other major retailer 35 years after its debut?

The Clone Wars cartoon is going strong and generally well regarded. There are new books, video games, collectibles and countless other licensed items issued on a regular basis. Apparently the half billion dollars in Star Wars merchandise revenue for 2010 was a record for a non movie year.

Star Wars is well embedded in pop culture. It's been gaining and losing fans for over three decades now. Saying that SW will be "very hot" come September is open to interpretation, but an event like the Blu Ray release is like to give the franchise a momentary boost, as will the coming 3D film releases. There are always cereal companies, fast food restaurants and t-shirt printers looking to ride the coattails of such releases.

I'm well past the days of having any great passion for SW, but am excited about riding Star Tours in a few days. And if Disney does anything to expand the franchise in its parks, I will certainly keep an eye on it.

Just as a possibility, there is some space between Star Tours / Indiana Jones Stunt Show and the parking area that currently houses backstage buildings. Something like this might be able to go there (position "#" on the map). Star Tours (5) remains. Convert Sounds Dangerous (3) to a Turtle Talk style Jedi Training (as suggested upthread). Convert Indiana Jones Stunt Show (4) to a similar stunt show, but using a Star Wars scene instead. Convert Backlot Express (D) to the Mos Eisley Cantina.

One new attraction, three refurbs, and some additional visual theme enhancements (signs, facades, statuary, etc.), and you have a "Star Wars Land" that is fully functional at DHS.

As far as the LMA and the Backlot Tour... I see that more as an opportunity for a full-fledged Pixar Place. Three zones to be worked on, likely in separate stages of development:

  • The simplest is a refub/re-theme of the Honey, I Shrunk The Kids playground (7) to a Bug's Life theme
  • The backlot tour area (9) has outlived its usefulness and chews up a lot of space. There should be plenty of room to add the rumored Monsters, Inc. rollercoaster here and still have the space to put in the more recently rumored Ratatouille dark ride and restaurant combination. Move Pizza Planet Arcade into this area to replace Studio Catering Co. (G).
  • Finally, the Lights, Motors, Action show (8) can be removed to give some space for additional expansions, such as a Cars Land.

In order to do a "Star Wars land", you would actually need an entire theme park. You would have to follow the movies. You enter the gate and you are in Naboo.

Go past the shops and such and see the beauty of the planet-the area of the waterfalls. The lakes. Then, you board a "transport" (actually an elevator) to visit the space station.

After the space station, you are taken to Tatooine (more shops) to see the pod races. After the pod races, it's back to Naboo to watch the battle (stunt show) unfold.

Next, we're off to Coruscant (an aerial ride), then, a walk through of the Jedi temple (another stunt show), and next, we're off to Geonysis to watch another stunt show (Anakin, and Amidala vs. the huge beasts).

Then, we're back to Tatooine (fast forward twenty years). We see grown up Luke want to leave Tatooine. On a ride, we travel into space, then, we visit "The Death Star" (another stunt show) before we are whisked off to Yavin to see the X-Wing fighters up close before the pilots board them for the Tie Fighter battle.

We watch the battle unfold and see the Death Star blow up.

Next, we are on our way to Hoth to watch another battle take place (the ice speeders and T-34's). Then, we're on our way to cloud city (more shops) before we see the cloud city battle (stunt show) unfold).

Finally, we're on our way to Endor to see the Ewoks. We watch the final battle take place and we exit near the front of the park.
