Yes, the last Star Wars was very restricted - no passes for the first 8 weeks, no student discounts, no employee passes, and all. In other words, Lucas wanted every penny possible. Therefore, the ship would have to pay for every single person to watch the film.
Most premieres that do take place on Fridays are on the Wonder (like Monsters Inc. and Snow Dogs). It is
Castaway Cay day on the Magic, and the Magic normally plays them on Tuesdays (Monsters showed on the Magic the following week).
Since prints are available at the last minute, the Wonder can get theirs on Thursday when the Magic would need to get theirs the Saturday before (unless they got a print at a port).
They have shown other studios films (like Cats and Dogs), but it isn't for a while after they are released.
