i just read on twitter about Star Wars themed hotel coming to Walt Disney world and all windows will have space outside of them...anyone know anything?

Sounds awesome but I'm dreading already how some guests might screw this up. Like the people who didnt 'get' the Adventurers Club.

This "boutique" hotel has been rumored for a while-RUMORED to be near Fantasia Gardens.:)

Do you think this is the boutique hotel?

I guess I just thought that would be more in common with Swan/Dolphin .. and SW hotel would be built adjacent to park with private access to SWL. Of course that could just be my logic taking over. :teeth: For that much money I want to enter SWL like I own it.

It could go at the bottom of the cleared area with it's own entrance where the "drive" is ... and there still be plenty of additional parking added to lots, virtually doubling it, with space to pick up even more. They could build an enclosed bridge over to it....

I mean you are right 1 + 1 = 2 .......... but I guess I had hoped for more. ::yes::

Did you hear anything about pricing?

They said nothing yesterday other than "luxury" which I wouldn't consider any existing resort range, but the leaks that came out in spring gave projections.

The leaks on pricing are pretty dire.

This is not going to be a "let's resort hop!" hotel. Guests at the hotel are being given clothing and food is included. You won't be hopping this, or making an ADR here.

The room rate is based on 2 people, and there are upcharges for every additional guest, including children. I believe the rumor is 2 night minimum. Base price for those two nights in an average season will be about $2500 for a family of 4.

Now, you won't need park tickets for those days. Or food.

But it's best not to consider this a hotel so much as a very specialty 5th gate.

Pretty sure people who are going to pay the exorbitant amount to stay here will get it. I doubt the unwashed masses will not even be allowed to visit. :)

This is going to be more like a cruise ship than a hotel. As I said, because of the immersiveness and the all-inclusive on the rate, this won't be a "let's resort hop!!!" destination.

This is really not that exciting....im into star wars but im not THAT into star wars....This is going to be a failed concept because of just that. Disney is trying to capture a very small market of hardcore star wars fandom

I agree with the bolded. But there are literally millions of people that are THAT into Star Wars. I have a feeling this is going to be huge for WDW.

Even my wife who is a casual SW fan said "we have to do that" The above mentioned prices reminds me of a scene from Jurassic Park.
Donald Gennaro: And we can charge anything we want, 2,000 a day, 10,000 a day, and people will pay it. And then there's the merchandise...
John Hammond: Donald, Donald... This park was not built to cater only for the super-rich. Everyone in the world has the right to enjoy these animals.
Donald Gennaro: Sure, they will. Well, we'll have a, a coupon day or something.
I figured it would be expensive, I hope it's not unreasonable. I would like to do this once. I could envision staying at the SW resort for a couple of nights to get the complete immersive experience, then transferring to a more reasonably priced resort for the rest of the week for the regular "Disney" vacation.
I love Star Wars, but more than 2 days would probably be too much.
