Resort Thread STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

My travel agent with Dreams was able to book a reservation today but told me that starcruiser guests have no priority over regular Disney resort guests for Oga’s or Savi’s reservations and I have to wait until 60 days out. Is that correct?

That is correct. Some seem to have been told there will be a separate pool of experience spots for Starcruiser guests, but a big TBD on that.

I’m not really a “I paid all this money I want special access” kind of person, but to me it sure would be nice / appropriate if enhanced access to some of those experiences was included.

Thanks. I’m the same as you. I just figured it would be helpful since we are on Batuu for a limited amount of time and they schedule your activities so closely that I wouldn’t even know when to book the reservations.

And with a lot of the AP and DVC people booked during the spring break crush…it could be very hard to land a reservation for anything!!

Agreed. We are planning for another day at HS during our trip so that we can try to fit in all of the Galaxy's Edge activities (Savi's, Droid Depot, Ooga's, etc.) prior to our "cruise" just so we don't miss some unique activity/experience on the Star Cruiser.

I guess the problem is that every other day there's going to be a cruiser full of guests that will potentially want reservations for Savi's, Ooga's etc. Setting aside a block of reservations for, what... 1000 guests every other day would probably upset a lot of other people who are only going to HS for that day and who can't get a reservation for one of these places as a result. I get that this puts us in the same boat, but at least we're getting "free" admission to the park.

What I'd like to see, and maybe they are planning for it, is early access to Galaxy's Edge for Star Cruiser guests. That way cruiser guests could at least have a chance to ride Smuggler's Run and Rise of the Resistance prior to the general public being let in. This wouldn't affect the general public being able to ride those rides later in the day.

Would be really cool if they had a late night emergency mission on Batuu…after the park closes to guests.
That would be cool with me too! I've yet to visit GE, is it an area of the park that would be easy to isolate from the rest of HS?

Opening early, or staying open late for Star Cruiser guests would be an added expense for Disney, but I'm sure it would also be greatly appreciated by the guests.

i’m a pessimist who believes that under the Chapek regime, added expense is always a more important consideration than guest satisfaction. Cruises are selling out without the promise of extra hours just for cruise guests, so my guess is that they would not add a perk which would require paying cast members to work more hours.

Yeah, GE has 2 entrances, but the land is back in the corner and could easily be closed off. I really thought the excursion to Batuu would be more private, but I guess having park visitors will give the added illusion for Star Cruiser guests that theyve landed on an inhabited planet.

I understand your point about Batuu and please realize my cynicism is not directed at you, but the only illusion I'll be under is why the heck did I just spend this much money on a two night fully-immersive reservation only to be given a quick service lunch voucher and admittance to a park (that I already had AP access to for "free") for 8 precious hours of that highly-expensive reservation. IMO, this is just a way for Disney to cut costs for the star-cruiser experience. Maybe I'm missing something?

Although I'm generalizing, it seems that one has roughly 4-5 hours of planned activities (includes dining time) on night 1, DHS for the next day, roughly 4-5 hours of planned activities (again includes dining time) on night 2, and check out the next morning. I will note that it does seem you may be able to do a couple of activities on the ship during the daytime.

Again, I'm just trying to be realistic and I am happy I have a reservation, but does anyone else have similar thoughts? I was expecting more for what is being charged here. Just my opinion.

Eagerly awaiting reviews!

This was my exact thought. Since we are all paying up for a "true," immersive Star Wars experience I think that those who want to participate in Savi's, Droid Depot, etc., should have a bit of priority in accessing. Guess we will see.

On a related note -- how does this work for those who are staying at a Disney resort either before or after the Galactic Starcruiser journey? I am checking in for one night at Saratoga Springs the night before our journey, and staying at another Disney resort for several nights after the end. Does Disney look at this as one continuous stay, i.e., does my 60 day booking window for my entire trip begin 60 days before my night at Saratoga? Does anyone know?

Not one continuous stay, but as 3 separate reservations. We are doing the same and have done "split" stays like this in the past. The 60 day booking window for dining and things like Savi's, etc. will be 60 days prior to each trip. Also, the booking window is 60 days from first day of trip but will include the remainder of the trip up to 10 days, so theoretically up to 70 days, depending on the length of the trip. In your case you can reserve for your one night stay at Saratoga 60 prior to that day, then 60 days prior to first day of Galactic Starcruiser, so you could reserve Savi's or Droid 61 days prior to the full day at HS. Then your booking window for your third reservation would start 60 days prior to the first day of that reservation and you could make reservations for the rest of that trip (up to 10 days).

I hadn't thought of it like this, but boy that reduces Star Cruiser guests' ability to get reservations during the "free" day at Galaxy's Edge. If we can only make reservations up to 61 days ahead of time and other guests can make the same reservations up to 70 days ahead of time, getting the reservation you want is going to be a lot harder if some accommodations haven't been made for this.

Not one continuous stay, but as 3 separate reservations.
That is kind of what I figured -- so I will have three separate 60-day booking windows. I can see why that would be the case, but was really hoping that they would consider the three reservations to be one long trip rather than 3 separate trips. Thanks for responding!

Others were told Starcruiser guests would be booked prior to 60 days. I'd be shocked if Starcruiser guests got shut out of Savis

Opening Savis, and maybe Ogas an hour early to accommodate Starcruiser guests should generate enough $$$ to pay cast members.

There are only 100 cabins on each Starcruiser voyage, and only a small handful of these are multi-room suites. Even if you assume 4 passengers for each cabin (and I think it actually will be fewer than that), it would be a maximum of 400 people per day competing for the SWGE activities. And keep in mind that not every Starcruiser passenger will want to do every activity.

I will hold out hope that we will get some sort of priority.

Me too. And I'm pretty sure the CM I spoke to when I booked hinted that this would be the case - that there would be a pool of reservations held for Star Cruiser guests. I'm still going to try to get reservations for the experiences we want during our earlier day at Hollywood Studios. I can always cancel one or the other if I'm able to book them both days.

Always curious about whether it’s better to do something like this at the end of trip or beginning. Have you been to galaxy’s edge before?
Also, the reservations for the droids and stuff go till 8pm, so it’s a small window the star cruiser guests will be in Batuu.

The Force is on our side. Not dvc. Applied for Disney Visa Saturday. Had card overnighted as they wont give you card numbers over phone. Received card last night, called this morning promptly at 6 am central and was booked in 30 minutes. No wait for screener, 15 minutes for Galactic agent and 15 minutes to book. Success!!!

I realize that i might be in a small percentage, but one of the aspects I was thinking about this morning is getting into costume. I would prefer not to waste precious time in the cruiser itself getting ready. My check out on the sailing date is 11am. If I get ready at the hotel, that's 2 hours in costume.... waiting outside in FL humidity. :/

We haven't been to Galaxy's Edge before. At first I was ambivalent about doing the Star Cruiser at the beginning or end of the trip, and it just worked out better to do it at the end of a trip in order to get the room type we wanted and the Captain's Table reservation. Now however, I am glad we're doing it at the end of the trip. Not that I think 5-6 more days at WDW would be a letdown afterwards, but I think doing it at the end will cause excitement to build during the trip.
