I’m on April 12th as well. Little bit jealous of your 6 minutes. I was on hold for 5 hours to get my reservation! After being disconnected twice on Tuesday, I called around 3 p.m. Pacific Time yesterday and only waited on hold for about 6 minutes before I was able to book. Total call took less than half an hour!
We are booked on the April 12 departure!
Super excited!
I think this is correct, but I am not 100% certain. I do know that when I called the DVC member number, I was bombarded with multiple messages that "the advance booking window is CLOSED and you will need to wait until general booking begins on October 28 to make a new booking or make changes to your existing registration."So reservation is now closed until the public access opens on Oct. 28, correct? Even if I have an AP or Visa?
Has anyone booked a single room for 5 guests and have a sense of the cost for that? (we are thinking 3 adults, 2 kids and want to know the cost differential for the extra adult)
Thank you!Copied from my earlier post: I’m sorry though I didn’t get a price breakdown per person.
2A and 3K (17, 14 and 8) - I like Star Wars fine but the 4 males I’m traveling with are all Star Wars nerds. I booked a standard cabin for $7577.34 for 4/2/22 - it was the cheapest option during our spring break.
For those who venture off the Disboards for all things Disney, is there a sense for how popular this is going to be with the general public? Are there people here who couldn't book during AP/DVC/Visa booking window that plan to be camping out on the phone lines on October 28?
We were looking to book for late April but have no real sense for how popular this pricey adventure is actually going to be. Any insight would be much appreciated, y'all.
Dont look at youtube comments! People killing Disney with complaints about price and how quick it will fail. I am doubtful, they dont seem to have trouble selling out the ridiculously priced suites at the resorts nor selling out insanely priced vip tours which have almost 4x in price in last few years.I guess the short answer is…. Who knows!
When I started this thread I frankly was worried it’d be overrun by the negative/I can’t believe what Disney is doing/OMG the price crowd… but it’s been a pleasant surprise that it’s generally full of people legitimately planning and/or looking to plan this experience (which FWIW, is the fundemantal ‘mission’ of DISboards in the first place). The guest list on post #2 is larger than I expected… but how did I even really know what to expect? Is it an initial blip… or something sustainable?
I guess time will tell.

Is it possible to get a travel agent to handle this for me? We’ll be at WDW on the 28th and I’d rather not be on hold the whole day but in the parks instead. If so, can any TA handle this or certain ones required?
The answer is YES - YES - YES!! We were actually on the first day of our vacation (9/30), in the Ronto Roasters seating area in Batuu when I received the email about the advance booking for AP holders. We contacted our Dreams Unlimited Travel agent, answered her few basic questions, and she did the rest for us. When the first day of booking opened on October 7, we slept in while our wonderful TA took care of everything. We received our confirmation email before noon. So now it appears there is only a form to fill out on Dreams' website. We have 6 potential guests (me, my husband, and our daughter as well as my best friend, her husband, and her daughter). We'd like to see the price for the Grand Captain's Suite and see if it fits in our budgets, but then have the option to book a cheaper split of two rooms if it didn't work out financially (either us in a Galaxy Suite, and them in a standard Cabin) or two standard cabins (or maybe our friends not even coming at all depending on price). Because you have to enter your CC number on the form, and they only let you have 100 character to put in messages to the Dreams Agent, this gives me pause. I want to have prices, and multiple options lined up to actually make a decision about who is coming and where we're staying. Does a Dream's Agent contact you and ask for more info after the form is filled out?The answer is YES - YES - YES!! At this point, I am sure the travel agents will know the pricing for each room type by travel date (even if just an approximation). If you reach out to an agent by email, I am sure someone will get back to you with answers to all of your questions. So now it appears there is only a form to fill out on Dreams' website. That's amazing. I sat on hold for 4 hours, and I'm not really upset about it, since I had a good outcome. The answer is YES - YES - YES!!
