Your parents, and your in-laws, and two small children. That's probably why they seemed to be in a less than stellar mood at dinner (pun intended).Traveling with your parents and two small children does not sound like a vacation!
I was in WDW last weekend and used UBER several times. Each time we went through the resort guard shack the officer would ask for the drivers ID, glance at it and then return it and waive us through. We were not questioned about ADR's or resort reservations althoughwe had them each time.
This morning I made a departure day ADR for Kona with the GS specialist to ensure we could get through the Poly guard shack. Our Mears shuttle is picking us up from the Poly late afternoon. Now I'm wondering if an ADR is really necessary. I suppose if we were blocked we could get dropped off at the TTC and walk over to the Poly and eat QS. We picked the Poly for the Dole Whips, the monorail and so I could dash into MK to pick up snacks.
There are 7 of us, 5 bags. Someone will be with our bags at all times. Before I answer your question, just curious as to your luggage plans in this scenario?

Yes, Had found out the hard way years ago. But this last time was able to do Bastila Shan and noone really cared since shes not a character you see at WDW. Have a Fennec Cosplay but didn't want to chance being kicked out on it looking too much like another characterI’ve never done the cruiser, I just used to be a local AP who often cosplayed SW at HS. Adults were never allowed to wear full face paint, non-medical masks, or helmets at the parks. They actually relaxed costume rules a bit for HS compared to what they used to be. Basically, no weapons other than lightsabers, capes can’t be past your hip, no robes, avoid perfectly matching any characters, and use normal everyday clothing (that maybe you made some modifications to) to create your look. Anything within that goes! I’ve seen lots of Rey’s, jedi, sith, Han’s, and generic well-done SW outfits. Jedi/sith sometimes sub a jacket or long cardigan for the robe.

We are planning pretty much the same thing as JFox. Don't fly out until 7pm of departure day, so I'm thinking we'll get an Uber/Lyft to one of the monorail resorts. Then we can wander around a bit checking out the resorts (only monorail resort we've stayed at before is Contemporary), have a dole whip, maybe do some shopping, have a late lunch, then get an uber/lyft to the airport.
My only concern with this scenario is our luggage. I know you can't take it on the monorail. I was originally hoping we could pack entirely in a couple of backpacks since after all it's only 3 days and there's just the two of us. But as costume ideas expand I feel like this is not going to happen. LOL So still trying to figure things out at this point. We go in 2 months.
Just wanted to address a couple of the points in your post...Traveling with your parents and two small children does not sound like a vacation!
I am thinking of taking a wait and see approach, going through Day 1 and then at that point deciding whether we want to stay in the bubble on Day 2 or venture further into the park. I think the priority will have to be Batuu missions, then the two rides, and then maybe some other HS attractions around lunchtime (or after) if I can get the LLs to work out.
What is the latest you would recommend getting back to the ship? I was assuming around 2:00 or so if we want time to eat and recover a bit. Alternatively, would it be feasible to eat at, say, noon or so on the Starcruiser and then go back into HS for a bit for a couple of LLs? We want to save our dining credits for the final day, to use at Animal Kingdom.
They will provide you with a data pad , just head over to passenger services when you arrive.Hi everyone! Planning on doing this either Dec 30 or Jan. The Jan dates aren’t out yet, but I am hopping they will be cheaper! I have loads of questions but here are two to start.
Do they supply you with phones for your data pad or do,you need to being your own? My husband doesn’t have a smart phone!
Can you eat food at Bantu and then come back for lunch? I want to experience both but don’t want to pay for Bantu if it isn’t included.
You could use one device if you are planning to take the same path. Shouldn’t be an issue. My only thought would be that if you were to get invited to something onboard at the end of day two you might want to make sure that both of you are listed on the same event. You could check with passenger services when you get onboard and they will be able to answer everything for you and give you a data pad if you decide you want one for your child. How necessary is it for everyone in a group to have their own MDE/Play app, assuming a child and parent will choose the same "path" and do the missions in tandem? Can one MDE/device simply be used?
On the topic of when new dates past 12/31/2022 may become available...if I did my math right the timing of the two releases to date have been something like this...
From (check-in) To
(check-out)# of Days # of Voyages General Booking Available Days in Advance of First New Date Months in Advance of First New Date Release #1 3/1/2022 10/1/2022 214 107 10/28/2021 124 4.1 Release #2 10/1/2022 1/1/2023 92 46 3/4/2022 211 6.9
Early June would fit the roughly just under 7 months out of Release #2. But obviously big TBD if any sort of pattern emerges with this thing. One could argue that since many book this in conjunction with other portions of a WDW stay, it'd be nice if 2023 dates get released here sometime soon just for convenience for those that plan that far out.
It’s difficult to read the tag, Chadsworth & Haig? Chads-something & Haig, lolWeird ask, but does anyone remember the brand of bathrobe available in the Starcruiser rooms?
Wow, thanks for replying! Enjoy your cruise! (Am I right in assuming you’re there?)It’s difficult to read the tag, Chadsworth & Haig? Chads-something & Haig, lol
