Star Wars Dessert Party details?

One question: neither of these allow me to use a Disney gift card. If I call can I pay for the dessert party with a gift card? Thanks!
Yes you can. The system doesn't allow the option to pay with a gift card but you can call and do it. I've done gift card payments for the Star Wars and HEA parties.

has anyone had any issues with the Disney website in regards to booking this dessert party? I searched my dates in april and the time pops up to click if I want to purchase but when I click nothing happens..... I guess I could just call but was curious if anyone else was experiencing this?

This exact same thing was happening to me today as well, also for dates in April. I think it's just a temporary glitch.

Does anyone know why there is no seating offered for the SW dessert party? I'd like to do the party, but I'm having a hard time justifying the cost, especially when other parties include seating for the same price. After a long day I'm wondering if my feet will even be capable of standing! :crazy2:

Understandable, there are two reasons. The main reason is that space inside the Launch Bay is very limited. And if there were enough room, adding seating would come with a price increase due to the additional labor and cost of the chairs.

While I do wish that the price was cheaper as well, I have to say that the Star Wars dessert party is definitely the most interactive out of all them with storm troopers frequenting the parties which makes it extra fun for kids ( and adults!!!) lol

But you don't need to do the party in order to get the Storm Trooper interaction. They are not part of the party, the party just happens to be in the Launch Bay which is part of their patrol. The best interaction is in the Animation Courtyard and the Center Stage area. Because of limited space in the party area, they are limited as to how much they can do.

Thanks, I do appreciate the insight. I just don't really understand the discrepancies in the pricing between the dessert parties. Why would there would be an increase in price if chairs were added, when the other dessert parties (Tomorrowland Terrace, Frozen) have seating and are the same price? The Garden Plaza viewing does not have seating and is $20 cheaper. Is there something else we are getting that makes up for the lack of seating at the SW dessert party?

Maybe they figure the presence of the storm troopers is the reason? Like they count as "characters" you can see there?

Oops, just saw the reply to this. So, that isn't the reason....what else could it be? Maybe it's the Captain Phasma stein.

Both the SW and Frozen dessert parties offer unlimited beer and wine. Many guests who have done both the MK party and SW party seem to think that the food offerings at the SW party are better than those at the MK party. And guests also receive a Captain Phasma souvenir stein. Another plus for SW fans is that everything at the Launch Bay is right there.

Thanks. That makes sense. Does this party sell out? Ideally I'd make a decision around the 60 days out mark, because that's when I'd be finalizing my schedule for park days, I just don't know if that would be considered too late.

Alcohol. And much better food than what FEA party offers. And we thought better alcohol choices too.

That's one area I can't comment on because I haven't tasted the food or drinks at any of the parties. It looks and smells good though, drives me crazy.

Yeah, I like the idea of fun Star Wars themed food and I've heard the selection is good. Is there anywhere where I can see a past menu of examples? I'll admit that I tend to forget about the alcohol angle myself since I'm not really a drinker.
