What are the odds the Star Wars Day at Sea will be added to the 2019 Fantasy spring cruises?
Does Disney jump the price when they announce SWDAS? Wondering if I should gamble with a Day 1 booking.

Given that the past 2 years, EVERY. SINGLE. FANTASY. CRUISE. between January and sometime in April has been taken over, I'd say you're pretty safe booking her between those times (maybe last cruise in March just to be safe). (I might be just a little annoyed that for me as a non-fan who doesn't want one of her sea days restricted as to where she can go in order to avoid it, the possibility of cruising my favorite DCL ship at any time other than the super hot and expensive summer has been eliminated.)

And yes, the prices have jumped when it was announced, but that is because people who were holding off jumped to book so availability changed. Assuming the same pattern continues, you might see more people book them in anticipation of the announcement and thus not see the big jump, but who knows.

Why would 1 sea day of a few horn blasts and a few different costumes and scene pieces being seen around the ship cause to avoid an entire week on the Fantasy? Doesn’t really make sense to me. I went on one of the SWDAS this past year and while I thought it was cool. I had to actively seek out the Starwars stuff with the exception of around the family pool deck a few times when they’ll storm troopers would March around. But the adult pool and Spa Day pass and dinner at Palo and a movie or too thru on demand in your room. You’d never see anything.

Reportedly they expanded it drastically after the first year. I don’t like being relegated to one section of the ship because the rest - including the movie theatre - has been taken over by something I do not like and want to deal with.

Fair enough. I know from a prior thread you were considering a 5 day on the magic. Just consider if (though unlikely) prices for a 5 day magic or 7 day Wonder are close to the 1st day pricing on the Fantasy, you could still have 6 days on your favorite ship vs 5 on the magic or 7 on another thatcyou don’t really care for.

To be fair I have not yet been on the Wonder. Yes, Tiana’s concerns me - but more this year was the uncertainty of the ports, even though it looks like they will be a go the statusnis unknown. I’m super excited about the Mexican Riviera on her Spring 2019 (to be booked on Wednesday).

The first year that SWDAS was announced, the price went up about $1000 very quickly. Last year (the second year), I think it may have been announced at the beginning. The price was already up $1000 from the previous opening day price. It didn't go up for about 6 months. It's possible the price will already have SWDAS built in again, or they might do something different, but I doubt it.

I wish they would just have the SWDAS listed on opening day. We went on one this past Jan. Don't really care to go on another one in 2019. I plan on booking a EC cruise this Wed., I just figured all the Fantasy cruises will have SWDAS. We skipped all SW stuff last time and will do so again if needed. Only thing I liked about it was having 2 nights of fireworks. I thought the dinner menu that night was awful.

What about tiana’s concerns you? I haven’t been on the wonder since they switched it, I didn’t much love parrot cay...

And what is the drawn for the Mexican Rivera? Is it just beautiful beaches?

I don't like Supper Clubs.

I would have been ok with the Wonder in the Caribbean in 2019. My concern was not knowing what we'd find in the Eastern Caribbean ports this coming February. But I've never been to the Mexican Riviera, so it's a new itinerary and a new ship for me. Which I think is pretty exciting.
