Star Wars breakfast menu at Sci Fi

I may be the only one, but I'm very disappoted in those entree choices. What about something plain for those of us who like simpler foods & don't eat eggs. I guess we'll try the French toast, but hopefully they'll have some regular maple syrup instead of Carmel sauce. And no meat like bacon or sausage with that ??? Yes, I know I 'm paying for the characters, but those entree choices sound horrible to us. We won't be there for SWW, so we'll keep the ADR. But we can't be the only people who would prefer some plain old pancakes.
.

We feel the same way.. We actually ended up canceling our ADR for 8 people based on the menu ..between picky eaters and food allergies, there wasn't enough to make the $400+ price tag worth it to us ( I understand that you are paying for the characters) we have already been to a couple SWW so I guess it just wasn't for us. Hope you all have fun!

I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.

This will be like CRT, the chefs used CRT as a template for the Sci Fi breakfast. The entrees are pre plated so you can't change ingredients, however you can change the sides. I don't know if there will be any additional vegetarian options since there are already a few on there. Asking for bacon or sausage will not cost any extra. You can't get the stuffed french toast un stuffed. There will be bellini's available and the characters will go through the dining room seeing each guest with the exception of Darth Vader.

Thanks for all your help! I hope our comments aren't offensive to you, I know everyone involved worked hard on the choices, and I'm sure it will be a fantastic event!

Thank you for sharing all of this information. I appreciate it! :wave2:

Thanks for all the info! I think the meal actually looks pretty good. I have two picky eater kids, but I think they'll eat either of the kid's meal options. One of my kids doesn't always eat scrambled eggs, but I know he'll like the french toast sticks, and if I can get him a side of bacon, he'd be perfectly happy.

If someone isn't wild about the entrees, or is still feeling hungry, can they get extra pastries? Or extra bacon and sausage? I agree that no one should have to feel like they have to go eat a second breakfast, but if one can get more pastries and protein, I can't imagine that anyone would have to. (We went the extra pastries route at breakfast at Ariel's Grotto in DL last month, and it worked out well. DH is a big guy, and we'd been up for a while before breakfast, and he was HUNGRY heading into the meal.)

Can we assume that coffee, milk, and juice are included? My assumption would be that they are included, but the bellinis and mimosas I'm hoping to see are extra. ;)

We made our reservations for breakfast and I could not wait for this menu. DH is very excited about it. The kids have no idea, but my 10 year old DS is going to flip when he finds out. Despite very picky eaters, I think we will all be able to find something yummy for breakfast! Thanks for sharing!

I thought of another question. Will they keep the lighting as dark as usual or more lit since there will be people taking flash pictures with the characters?

The price is $47.99 for adults and $29.99 for children 3-9.
Characters are there everyday and they are Darth Vader (photo op only at the front of the restaurant), Storm Troopers, Jawas, Greedo and Boba Fett

I'm thinking... Our "normal" QS breakfast at the resort would be about $21 total for me (DH), DW, and DS. We would use our refillable mugs for coffee. So, with tax, the breakfast at SciFi is $134. I have to really think about whether the character interactions during breakfast is worth $113.

I'm hoping $113 is worth it. We scheduled the breakfast and the Jedi Mickey dinner earlier in the week (not a Star Wars day) hoping we can enjoy HS Star Wars weekend and without worrying so much about lines.

I think they had this last year. Did all the Star Wars storm troopers, jaws, etc. come around to the cars for photos? I thought I read somewhere they had this last year but I cannot find any photos or videos.

no they didn't have it last year. This is the first time this has been offered

I'm really surprised that there is nothing vegan on the menu. Everything utilizes eggs or dairy or meat. Isn't there usually at least one vegan option, especially if everything is pre-plated and unable to be customized? Will they make a special plate for someone with food allergies or restrictions like a vegan lifestyle?

I'm still hung up on the photo op of DV. Can anyone elaborate? I'm only asking b/c he's the main character my son wants to see.

Kids

Traditional breakfast- same as adult
Puffed French Toast Sticks- tossed in cinnamon sugar with chocolate dipping sauce[/QUOTE]

Why such garbage food for kids? Other than eggs (which DS doesn't like), there's nothing healthy.... loads of sugar..... It amazes me that it's a struggle to get healthy food like fresh strawberries (a Florida fruit) at Disney restaurants for children. And don't tell me bacon loaded with salt and nitrates is healthy.... or that it's OK to eat junk because we are on vacation.

I guess I'll need to feed DS before we go and consider the $40 a fee to see characters and consider the food a bonus. Just increasingly annoyed.... I'd think, for the price they are charging, they could have a buffet table with some fresh fruit or something alongside the sugary carb loaded pastries that none of us can eat without instantly gaining pounds...

Allergies and dietary restrictions will be accommodated

there is fruit for kids

I'm sorry I don't have all the answers to everyone's questions. This is brand new and the menu was just recently finalized.
This is new and exciting and something that Disney has needed for boys for forever. I know that if this had been available when my boys were young, I would have been on the phone for hours waiting to book it as well.
As with anything new, there will be kinks and things that need to be worked out. Disney will do whatever they can to make the dining experience as awesome as possible and everyone will just have to trust in that.
If there is anything more that I can pass on I will

I know this is offered during the sww period. However does anyone think it might become a usual offering. Our family loves sci fi and star wars. It would be a must do. My reservation is Tuesday. Wondering if I will be able to book it. Do you have to call still?

I'm thinking this is going to be very "cool"...... SciFi Diner is a nice location because it's so big inside. I hope to see some light saber battles.... or something more than the usual greetings and photos. We are really excited about Star Wars weekend but also worried about crowds....

Doing the Sci Fi Breakfast and the Jedi Mickey dinner before Star Wars Weekend will get us pumped up about it and also free up some of our time when we are at Hollywood Studios for the Star Wars Weekend.

Who's going to the Jedi Mickey Dinner at Hollywood and Vine? I thought about doing that on Friday May 23 instead of earlier in the week... but it includes Fantasmic. The idea of being at Fantasmic at 9-9:35, then rushing with the exiting crowd toward the Symphony in the Stars show/fireworks sounds like a nightmare. I'm sure it's best to do Fantasmic earlier in the week and arrive very early for SITS. Good Plan?
