Star Wars at MGM?

Hi all!

I'm new to this forum and I'm glad to have found you all!

My husband and I went to Disney World this past May (it was his first time, my fourth), and he's now hooked! So now we are planning our next trip (he's said we're going every year and we even joined the DVC while we were there - so now I'm trying to find out everything I can about what & when at Disney!)

Anyway...on to my question that I hope someone can tell me the answer. When is the Star Wars tour at MGM next year (2007)? I thought I saw somewhere it is always in May - does anyone know for sure? We'd like to plan our vacation around that time (as hubby is a big time Star Wars fan).

No ideas of the '07 dates, but would think they would follow the pattern of past years. I know you will get more definitive answer than this.

I needed the answer to this question as well. So I looked it up and the pattern, as Dan said, has always been the last two weekends in May and the first two in June. I called WDW and they verified that it is always those weekends. So we are going to book the first weekend in June.

FWIW, I read somewhere that there was a possibility that they MIGHT be in DL this year because of some big SW event in LA around the same time.

That would break our hearts. We have already booked our flights and are just waiting for the packages to come out.

That would be great. If you could provide a link I would appreciate it. I guess we are still going to WDW so hopefully this will just be a rumor and nothing will come of it.

Looks like Celebration IV is taking over the LA Conv. Center from May 24-28. This is the 30th anniversary of SW so they are supposed to be pulling out all the stops.

Speculation is that Lucasfilm may not want 2 events going on at the same time so MGM dates may get pushed. Not cancelled, just changed.

Makes more sense to me actually. If you do a serch on the main SW site of "2007 star wars weekends" you will be directed to a number of discussions/articles.

Looks like the powers that be haven't nailed everything down yet???

Will have to keep an eye open.

We're thinking of going to WDW in May '07 so hopefully SW will be there - if they change the dates - well, gee we might have to come back for it!

If you like SW it is alot of fun & worth going at least once (IMO).

Some helpful hints/ things to keep in mind:
1). long autograph lines, in the sun. 2 words. Spray Fan.
2). waiting for one character & having them change shifts while you are in line. (we were waiting about 25 minutes already for Anakin when "Master Yoda needed to have a conference with Anakin" & Mace Windu came to take his place.
3). If you have any interest in getting the collectible beanie or any of the other limited edition pieces make that the first thing you do. They sell out quickly.

ok yes they are doing a big thing in cal for the holiday in may the buzz is that lucas does not want two things going on at the same time. they may move the dates to either april or june. i will keep looking at the star wars board at starwars.com to find out the latest. i want to do starwars weekends at disney next year as well we want to do all the weekends and we also want to go to cal for the big one there two. i cant see them not having it because it is the 30th ann
