Star Wars 40th Anniversary

Any word if there will be anything extra going on for the 40th anniversary of the release of A New Hope? Is 40th even a big deal? Just curious.

I don't know, but I really doubt it because they just did May 4th and they didn't do much beyond churros and some merch.

I haven't heard of anything, but my guess is there really won't be much happening. There might be some new merchandise (Disney almost never misses a merchandising opportunity), but as the PP said, they already rolled out the lightsaber churros and new merchandise for May the 4th. I would keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements, but I wouldn't expect very much. May 25th is two days before the Summer of the Heroes promotion begins, so most/much of the attention will be on the new GotG: Mission Breakout attraction and other Marvel related activities.

The lightsaber churros are supposed to be around until the end of the month, so hopefully they won't run out.

In somewhat related news, my 40th anniversary Smuggler's Bounty box is out of delivery and I'm totally not pacing by the front door every hour or so.
