For whatever reason, I seem to get motion sickness from Star Tours. :crazy2:

I was wondering if anyone who also gets motion sickness on Star Tours can compare their experience(s) with Millennium Falcon Ride. :worship:

FWIW, I have no problems with Flights of Passage. :confused3

As always, thank you in advance. :thumbsup2

VERY interested in responses!

Star Tours AND Flight of Passage are both a no go for me due to motion sickness...

I thing Star Tours and MFSR are very similar in that if ST makes you motion sick, so will MFSR.

The ONLY major difference is that on MFSR, they blow air on you, rather forcefully. Probably to help with motion sickness. They don't do that on ST.

I sometimes get sick on Star Tours, but I rode MFSR three times yesterday with no issues at all. I agree it may have been the air because I feel like Star Tours is always so hot. I also felt like I was more engaged so it took my mind off of the possibility of being sick.

Would any of the positions/roles make you less prone to motion sickness? I really want to ride it but have yet to attempt FOP and haven’t ridden ST in years.

I thought MFSM was very smooth ride compared to ST. I don't know if it was because of everything else going on around me but I never felt like I was thrown around like ST.

I told my wife it felt like riding Soarin while playing a video game after we got off it.

With both FOP and ST, for the more "intense" parts, I find I can just close my eyes and I don't get sick. As long as the ride doesn't physically "drop" and only has simulated ones, I think I would be ok.

I'm really hoping RotR is safe for those of us that suffer from motion sickness!

There is one part where you dive down and I thought it was the most intense. The rest is just flying and I thought it was much less than Star Tours.

Engineer is the worst for motion sickness. I don't even get motion sick, but I was pilot on my first ride and then Engineer since then, and there is WAY more movement in the back and I get a little queasy back there on some rides (if the pilots are being crazy).

We went to SWGE in California and rode the falcon ride. It is very much like star tours but I actually felt that the ride was "rougher"/bumpier than star tours. Not sure what aspect of star tours bothers you, screen or movement or both....LOL.

I get motion sickness on Star Tours every time. Even when I close my eyes through most of it. :-)That can last a few hours for me.
We did MFSR twice last Saturday at the passholder preview, and it just made me a little dizzy and subsided quickly (maybe 15 min). I was engineer first time and gunner second time. Both positions felt the same to me. I don't think I'd be able to handle pilot since any driving-type video game makes me really dizzy.
Both the motion of the "vehicle" and the simulated scenes on the screen on ST is worse for me and my motion sickness.

I have vertigo, I can get dizzy and queasy easily. I did Mission once and my day was ruined. I hate Primevil Whirl.

Star Tours I prefer the back so I can take it all in without too much head movement because it kicks in then. FoP I was concerned but found if you move your head not your eyes it changes everything with the dizzy.

We did MF twice. Once we had pilot but traded for engineer. Second time gunners but traded for engineer. I was worried since we needed to participate looking to our sides, my kid was across the aisle and I was trying to film it that for sure I would be sick. We had on seat belts and we bounced about. More like bouncing up and down and left to right ... the better the pilot the smoother the ride. First pilot was great and so our ride fairly smooth. Second pilots were younger and hit lots of stuff so our ride was rough.

I am shocked I didn't get sick with pushing all the buttons, yelling over to the kid trying to tell him what to do, filming with my right had and bouncing about. There was lots of air blowing but there also is on FoP and felt about the same. I felt like being further back in the cabin I could see all without too much movement of my head and it was wider back there so I didn't feel closed in. I can safely say everyone should try it once, it's a great ride (and I had my doubts), so much fun.

I didn't read all of the replies, so sorry if this is redundant. I also get sick on Star Tours (ok on FOP). I was a gunner on MFSR and as long as I stayed facing my little area, I was fine. I started to get a bit queasy when I looked forward through the windshield (?). The scenes were really cool, so I couldn't help peeking a few times. It tossed everyone around more than I expected, but the movement didn't really bother me- just sort of like riding one of the mountains
