Star Tours randomized?

Is Star Tours currently randomized at Hollywood Studios? If I ride it twice, will I have different experiences? If not, when will it be randomized again?

You will likely have at least some different experiences (but always a slim chance you'd get the exact same ones!)

The scenes are randomized, but we always seem to get the same main sequences (Jakku and Naboo). We rode it a good 8-10 times in early December, always with the same scenes.

Yes it's randomized again. They went back to randomized when the rogue one inspired scene got added. (or it was announced they would be going back at destination d in november but I forget the date and if there was going to be a time when it favored the rogue one sequence for awhile and haven't ridden to see it for myself). I think it's also in pieces with different opening, middle and ending so you might see parts that are the same with a different scene.

There is no Rogue One sequence for Star Tours. At the event at EPCOT in December, they announced that there will be an Episode VIII scene added sometime during 2017 (probably November or December). They only announced that Star Tours would go back to being random.

Walt Disney Entertainment shared that voyage changes are coming to Star Tours – The Adventures Continue starting in mid-December. The attraction will soon switch back to offer randomized beginnings (instead of starting each journey on the planet of Jakku) and final destinations.

EDIT: so correct I heard it wrong as it was grouped into the presentation talking about rogue one.. sorry about that but there is the official random answer.

I rode several times in December and I got the same exact one every time. It's the same one I get everytime I ride. One single time I did get the paint thrown at the end rather than the point of the ship coming through the 'glass'. Otherwise everything is the same.

Did you ride before December 16th? To my knowledge, the randomization started again on December 16th. If you rode before that date, you got the Episode VII planet (forget the name of it off the top of my head) and Naboo or Coruscant I believe.

Like pp said, before Dec 16 you would have gotten Jakku as the first destination and BB8 add the transmission, they were fixed since Force Awakens came out. It's back to random with Jakku and BB8 thrown into the mix now. Episode VIII will be added when the movie comes out in December

I know in mid-April, the first destination was always Jakku (Force Awakens) and rebel message was always BB-8. I know I had Coruscant ending at least once but don't remember if that was every time. I think I rode 3 times.

current set up (all random at this point)
Beginning: Vader or Droid (showing who is the rebel spy)
1st destination: Hoth or Jakku or Kashyyyk or Tattooine
Transmision: BB8 or Yoda or Leia or Admiral Ackbar
2nd destination: Coruscant or Naboo or Battle over Geonosis

It was fixed on Jakku and BB8 from mid Dec 2015 to mid Dec 2016
