I'll be at DL with extended family this Friday. My brother is going to be the FP runner and head straight to ST for FPs. How bad will the line be? Assuming we are in line to get into the park at 7:30, how will this affect him getting the passes? Any special strategies? My thinking is that if he gets there and it's crazy, to get FPs for Space Mtn. instead, and get ST passes as soon the next window opens. This should be at about 9.

I was just at DLR Aug 1 & 2.
Yes, get ST FPs first thing!
We went to get FPs around 8:20 (note it was a MM) and the FP line was probably a good 20 mins long. Probably more. On the non-MM when we went to get ST FP we only had to wait about 5 mins in the FP line, and we weren't at the very front of rope drop either. Our return time was pretty good on those, maybe 10:45am or 11am.
I overheard a lady saying how they got to the FP machines at 9am and the return time on their FP was already 11pm! :scared1:

Get ST FP first. A few people have said they are running out quick and he may not have a chance if he goes to Space first.

Since he can go ahead he can wiggle to the front of the Rope Drop. Then walk very quickly with the crowd to the ST FP distribution, he should stay left of Astrorbiter to get there. Since it is Friday and not a Magic Morning day there will be no line already there.

If done well it will only take about 5 minutes. Shouldn't be a big deal.

Get FP first. We were at the park this morning. Rode Star Tours at 7:45am with a 5-10 minute wait. By 8am the line quickly became 40 mins, but there wasn't a line at the fp machines, just 1 or 2 ppl at each FP machine. By 9:00am the line for fp was about 15 mins. No more FP by 11:15. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'll send him for ST FP first. My hope is that we will get the earliest return time so that we can get another set of FPs around 9. We'll see.

Do you think the lines for ST will still be this bad in October? We are going Oct. 21-24. I was hoping that it wouldn't be as bad bc it is during the fall.
