I will being going to Disneyland with my DBF the first week of June 2011. He gets motion sickness so theres no way I could get him on the new star tours however I MUST ride it :rolleyes1... Star Wars is one our favorite movie series and I was wondering if it was possible for him to wait in line with me and then chicken out at the end maybe walk straight through the ride vehicle to the exit? We thought maybe he could at list seen the new que. Anyway any help will be possible I know this will be a as far as we know answer but thanks for the help anyway. :)

I don't know about a chicken exit but I went on that ride last year and it made me feel so sick and I felt that way for ages. I don't normally get motion sickness so I imagine your friend would feel even worse.

He did it once before on his first trip to DLR and was pretty sick luckily it was our last ride of the day. So we know he cant actually ride the ride but he does wanna see the que and not sit on a bench alone out side while I wait in line and ride the ride

You should be able to exit. We have at WDW for DS4 to go to the restroom. hard to tell since they are redesigning....

My BF has terrible motion sickness and cannot ride very much at all! She has gone through that line with me several times and there is an exit off the platform where you board the "ship" = you dont get to walk through the ship, though, as I recall.

They always have last minute exits for kids, as I have traveled with both friends' children and my own DS4 who say "I'm not scared! Let's go!" then at the last second say "No, Mom, I can't do it!!". I think I've been told that on almost every ride at DLR, and usually you just wait at the handicap entrance. On Star Tours the last time they had us walk through the ride; it is hard to tell what the new one will be, but rest assured they will have a last-minute escape plan for your friend. :thumbsup2

post script - Teki loved the Wall-E gif so stole it for my avatar. Hope you don't mind Wall-E is my son's favorite.

A few times when we kid-swapped, they had us wait in line together, and whoever wasn't riding just walked straight through the Starspeeder and waited in the hallway on the other side during the ride.

CM's cant force someone onto a ride. Yes he can stand in line then bail out at the last minute.

Just an fyi, I find that if I sit in the very last row and hold my arms up over my head during the motiony parts of the ride I don't feel sick when I get off. :) Just an fyi, he might not want to try it but I was glad I did, I loved that ride.

Glad you like it! its not really mine, so I dont mind you stealing it lol

Thanks for all the advice everyone! Were going to go ahead and stand in line togther :yay:

We have used the chicken exit on Star Tours. It is just to the left of the boarding area. You just follow the exit signs and it take you out. You do not get to walk through the vehicle. HTH :thumbsup2

My DH cannot even with meds on board ride the teacups but after a bad 1st experience he started taking motion sickness meds when we get in Star Tours line by the time we get to the ride he is ready and yes we cannot sit in the front row but this is now his favorite ride at DL (HUGE Star Wars fan)

Last I heard a couple weeks ago, it was pushed back to 2012.... I was talking with the lady helping us out at Marcelines and it had been announced that morning.
