Back here in the room for our last night before we move to the Boardwalk. I will miss the view of the lake and all the boats and the horns and just the general activity. The water parade just went past...still tacky but still good.
DH & DS ate dinner at the Concourse Steak House. DH said that the Outback at home is better and DS (the very picky eater) did not like the pizza. DD and I ate at the concierge lounge since we weren't very hungry. DD liked the veggie dip, carrots, pb & j sandwich & gummy worms. I had one shrimp & scallop skewer, some veggie dip, hummus & flat bread, and a chicken tapa (think that's what it's called) Good.
We all met up about 7 and headed over to the MK for the last time (sob). While walking down Main Street DH stopped to take a picture of Walt's window. Right in front there was someones camera on the curb so we gave it to a cm - hope it gets back to it's owner. We then got 4 fp's for Space Mountain since DS & I planned to go twice. We went on the TTA and then Carousel of Progress. We sat in the front row this time around and that was different.. DS & I then went on SM while Dh & DD went to the arcade. LOVED riding on SM again and as DS put it so eloquently, I screamed like a little girl.
Once was enough for DS so we gave our extra 2 fp's to two folks in line.
We caught up with DH & DD and then walked on Buzz since lots of folks were watching Spectro. Zurg need not worry about me.
There was just enough time left to watch the last show of Mickey's Philharmagic. LOVE it!! (Ok, who else tries to catch the objects in that show?? I always try to save Donald.
)
The fireworks were just starting when the show ended so we just stayed out back by the carousel. If you haven't seen WISHES yet then you MUST make it a priority next trip. I am a big fan of Illuminations but this show blows it away in my opinion. And for a different perspective see it from the back near the carousel. The fireworks were being shot off all around us and it was just so great! Loved it!
I bought the music CD earlier at a CR store.
After it was all over we had to make the trek to the end of Main Street along with everyone else. Wall-to-wall people but it moved quickly so it wasn't bad. DD5 was so tired and her feet hurt so I carried her. So nice to be walking down Main Street with my little one...the stores all lit up..the castle changing color..and the music playing (Can You Feel The Love Tonight). Very moving.
We met up with DH & DS at the Contemporary walkway and walked our last trip "home" from the MK. I can't believe that our trip is already half-way over.
We have enjoyed The Contemporary but I'm not sure when we will get back. We have enjoyed the convenience to the monorail and the MK. The concierge staff has been helpful and attentative. The food offerings have been ok - but the Polynesian and AKL are still the best for that - in my opinion. We loved the view from our room. The size of the room can't be beat - it will be tough going to smaller living quarters.
Oh, after I finished my last report I went on the balcony to read the paper. DD was on the bed and I still don't know what happened but she broke the glass light cover over the bed!
I heard the sound of breaking glass and I went running in. I was thankful that she didn't get hurt, but I still don't know how she did it and she ain't talking!
Off to bed...need to pack in the morning.
Jill
P.S. Melissa (melk), wish I could pack a Mickey bar for you!
