Star JOnes is leaving the view...

I don't think Rosie did anything like that, saying that she wont do The View if Star worked there. I read her blog regularly and she's talked about Star alot. She said recently that she likes her and is looking forward to working with Elisabeth and Star, even though they have different political views.

I don't necessarily agree with everything she says, but I do like her. I am looking forward to her joining The View. I only watch it sometimes, and when I did Star always annoyed me. I will watch it everyday when she starts in September.

BTW, you can read Rosie's blog at www.rosie.com. She talks about her political views alot, but also talks about her kids and her life. I enjoy it.

I'm no Star fan, either, but I don't see why we expect every person in the public view to share the details of any and all procedures, medical and otherwise, they've undergone. I know the media feeds us a constant stream of this information, but it's gotten to the point that if someone wants to keep something private, they are scorned for it. It's none of anyone's business how Star lost her weight, and the only comment I've seen her make is that she didn't want to share that because she didn't want to become a celebrity "spokesperson" for that method. That makes perfect sense to me. I think we cross a line when we expect and are then angry not to receive personal information from a celebrity who has decided not to share it. Just my .02.

So now The View will be Rosie, Joy, Elisabeth and occasionally Barbara??? Yikes, better find something else to do during that hour. Meredith was really the only one I enjoyed. Joy is funny but a bad "overtalker", Elisabeth is sweet but doesn't really contribute much, and Rosie will, I'm afraid, be unable to transistion into the "co" part of co-host. I know she will be the lead person, but she'll still have to participate in the give-and-take discussions, and I'm not sure how she'll do that.

I really liked Ropsie, but she lost me when she became political. I don't care about her sexual orientation at all, but I watched her purely for entertainment, and if she's going to harangue guests again, well, I'm outta there...
what bothers me is not the procedure but the fact that she wants to be so foth coming with everthing and is always giving the impression she is so honest and then she does not come clean about the weight loss. Look these people put their lives out there all the time. It is their choice so why would she not share with people how she lost weight. If it is not by pass surgery then why not share the weath and possibly inspire others. She is so good at talking the talk but then it makes her look like a phony when she does not walk the walk (i.e. being truthful). We had to endure every aspect of her obscenly lavish wedding, and just about everthing else. She is so self rightgous but a phony.

Bottom line.....I am glad she is gone. I just cannot think about who would take her place but Anyone is better. I am no fan of Rosies either. I think sheis cut from the same cloth as Star but even she is better.

I can't imagine anything that Star could have done to lose the weight so fast other that bypass surgery. It just doesn't make any sense. And if she does have some sort of weight loss secret then she would have a book out by now. I believe that she lost the weight because she was desperate to find a man, and she got one. Good for her.

I just don't want to be lied to. As my best friend says: "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining!!" :rotfl2:

I just had to add, it really annoyed me when Star was on Larry King and she refused to say how she lost all the weight. Blah.

I understand about the need for privacy, but she would talk about anything (and everything) on The View. What is the big deal??!!!

I was never a regular watcher of the view - so don't know why Star is so hated.

As far as Rosie is concerned, I used to like her... not anymore... Don't care for her personality, on-screen persona - which I think is the "real" Rosie - the nice one we (I did, anyway) loved when she first became mainstream was one developed to grow a fan base... don't care for her ambush-style of criticizing guests who have different views than she does.

I hope the less-vocal co-hosts of the view don't get eaten alive by the Rosie-Monster!

Too bad Star and Rosie aren't going to be working together. That would have been the Clash of the Titan Egos.

I actually know people in real life who have worked with these women, and neither one is known for her niceness. I'm told they are both major B words and think seeing them debate each other would have been a hoot.

So long and good riddance. I have never liked Star Jones. She's so full of herself and incredibly phony. And if she took off those rose colored glasses of hers she might be able to see that her "husband" is a gold digging fake who doesn't really love her for who she is but rather for her t.v. persona and the money that comes from it

Star's claim that she doesn't want to endorse anyone concerning her weightloss is pretty rediculous considering how freely she endorsed anyone or anything having to do with her wedding. What she could say that I would be willing to believe is that the doctor who is responsible for her achieving her weight loss is not willing to PAY her for her endorsement. ;)

Yes, I would love to know her secret....don't get me wrong....I applaud her weight loss BUT to half the country who struggles with weight loss issues (like me) I would love to know what she did that was so successful. I am betting if the VIEW had chosen to "re-sign" Star, she still would have resigned because I am guessing with Rosie joining the show WEIGHT and WEIGHT LOSS and DIETING would be a bigger than life topic and I am betting Star was NOT going to go there!

We're considering buying a FSBO house. The owner claims that he had the house listed last year with a RE agent, but it didn't sell. Even though we'll have an inspection (of course), I have to wonder why the house didn't sell. Was it price, was there a inspection that went bad? Is there any way to look at MLS listings that have expired with no sale? Can anyone give any advice about buying FSBO? How can I find out if the house didn't sell due to an inspection issue? I figured if I can find out where the house was listed, maybe I can contact the agency and get some info from the old listing agent.

:confused3 isn't this Thread about STAR JONES!!!! :confused3

Then I guess you missed the show where Star was very open about her breast lift and augmentation she had done this past Spring claiming that her breasts thought they were 20 years old again. You know she had to get done after such a dramatic weight loss. (<---directed at Star, not you DVCLiz :) )

I don't care how Star lost her weight or that she married a man that may or may play for the other team or that she pimped out her own wedding...

What bothers a lot of people about her, myself included, was that she insisted that she lost the weight due to exercise and diet...only. Now, I am certain that helped her lose the weight, but look at how much weight she lost and in the time she did it? Come on...surgery probably was involved. She had to know being in the public eye, this would come up. It's certainly her right to not to discuss it and keep it private, but I think she should have taken a different approach and handled it better if she didn't want to discuss it. She's not an idiot.

Back to her wedding....oy. Is it possible for someone to actually MAKE MONEY throwing a wedding? I think Star Jones may have accomplished that! :rotfl:

And then there's her attitude...

I hope they replace her with another professional woman outside of the entertainment business. I also hope they replace Elisabeth Hasselback. I don't think Elisabeth does a good job holding her own against the other ladies. There has to be someone better suited at representing the conversative view for the The View than her.

I miss Lisa Ling and Meredith Vieira. :(
