Star Fruit in Adventureland

Went to the MK yesterday with my cousin and his girlfriend (they are visiting from England, woo-hoo!) Anyway, we were leaving Adventureland and walking towards the bridge that leads to the MK hub. We were strolling along waaaaaaaaaaay over to the right, just admiring the jungle-like theme and poof - there was this GORGEOUS star-fruit tree!!!

I have never seen them growing in FL before (or anywhere for that matter, hee hee!!) The tree was full of fruits and they looked ripe (kind of that golden/greenish color that they are in the grocery store).

Seems like I will have to do some research on this - it would be pretty cool to have one of those growing in my back yard!

Also saw some gorgeous yellow orchids growing from many low tree branches in Adventureland. It is such a cool place for plant spotting!

Are you talking about carambola? A fresh carambola picked right off a tree and eaten like an apple is absolutly the best.

AC - yes, it's a carambola (although I didn't know it until I saw your post and did a search!) LOL!

Snowwark, I'm ashamed to say I don't even know the dates for DISCON (but don't tell anyone I said that!) Are there any informal meets planned? I would love to meet you too!!! I bet you are super excited about your upcoming trip. The MK was practically empty on Tuesday. We walked on to Space Mountain after noonish and just had wonderful luck with lines all day. Walked on to Splash Mountain and BTMRR some time around 4:00. It was incredible! Had a great view of the afternoon parade and the fireworks (right under Tink).

My cousin and his girlfriend even got to meet Captian Hook and Mr. Smee and they were delighted. It was such an awesome day for all of us.
