Gorgeous !!!
I now want to go to Italy! I can’t wait until things are “normal”
Not really enjoying the Sicily episode so far. Donkey carpaccio gets a big NO from me.
Glad you have the cardiovascular strength to contemplate the biking in Tuscany...DH and I have a biking tour through Italy on our bucket list. We just need to pick the tour company, choose the region, save up the money and have my knee heal enough to ride. Right now we are daydreaming about Tuscany!
Lots of folks will have to be saving these days...same !! We started a fund already to save and go !!!

Love this show also. The only episode I did NOT like was the Rome episode.
Agree--- wasnt that the Episode where that beautiful cafe was burned down?
yea--- went and checked--- was Episode 2- the Rome episode--- that was a rough part to watch
Seeing how the cafe was burnt down was heartbreaking. But, I think this is why this series is on CNN and not PBS. (I've never seen a series on CNN. I didn't even know they have series.I usually watch certain news anchors, that's it.)
But, I suspect, that since this series is on CNN, they are going to include some darker, news segments. Not just the wonderful, fluffy segments.
I'm slowly working my way through the series. I usually multitask while watching TV. Since this show has so much subtitling, I can't do that. I have to wait till this show has my full attention.
I just finished the Milan episode. It was filmed in the fall, before the pandemic. Strange to see so many people out and about in the streets and courtyard areas. I MISS that. And it was also interesting to see Stanley's film crew and the lodge owners all sampling off the same plate, at a time when there was no worry about sharing or spreading germs. I hope we can get back to that someday.
Still, it was my least favorite episode so far.
one of the best liqueurs in all of Italy! Love It!LOVE limoncello !!! And Im not a drinker... but its soooo good !!!
Oh the internal divisions are huge; once you examine one, there often turn out to be several sub-divisions also...After watching most of the episodes, I would say that they are including the information about Italy's political divisions (with an extreme right wing trying to come to power) as well as the immigration issues they are struggling with.
Kind of good to be able to retain dual nationality, I think...I like the series as I feel he is really showing what Italian food is in Italy, not Italian-American food. There is a huge difference.
Can't wait to get back to Italy! My mom was born there, my husband has dual citizenship with Italy and I have been going since I was a little girl.. Pre-Covid we were going at least two times a year. We have visited every region, except the island of Sardinia, most more than once.
Hopefully by the end of this year.
His intersection of fo0d and history is brilliantly done. The last show in Sicily with his discussion on immigration and that incredible family he ate with was so moving and real. I predict a travel tour being formulated based on his shows.
10pm Eastern time tonight (3/27) - Sicily and 11pm Eastern time tonight Naples and Amalfi Coast repeats - if you happened to miss them, or watch to watch again
