Standard vs. Garden View Room

My family and I are looking to stay on the cheap (relatively speaking, being that it is Hawaii), but was wondering if anyone had an opinion as to whether the Garden View Room was worth the $40/night increase in price over the Standard View Room. Or do you think the savings over the course of our 5 night trip is better spent somewhere else? This will be our first time staying at Disney's Aulani or in Hawaii. Thanks for your help!

I would say that it depends on if you plan on sitting out on the balcony and looking out onto the Island. Some standard rooms still have nice views and some don't. Depending on what garden view room that you get, you could still end up with no so great views like looking right at a bunch of trees. If money is that tight, then I would stick to the standard view and drive around the Island to look at the scenery. Have a fun trip.

I also agree with PP on it depends on how much time you spend in room. If you enjoy morning coffee in the room then I suggest upgrading. Staring into a bush beats staring at the parking garage.
