Standard View vs garden or water view

What is considered a standard view? These are the lowest price rooms. Are they the worst location or view?

Standard room is the lowest rooms. It could be garden, parking lot, road, entrance area, etc. views.

We booked standard but got a complimentary upgrade to park view 7th floor......it was awesome!
