We just added on a 2 night stay in a standard view boardwalk? This will our first stay here. Any recommendations on location would be appreciated.
Fingers crossed, we also waitlisted another 2 nights

We like "upper floor across from the bus stop". These are not close to the elevators, but give you a chance of seeing fireworks from EPCOT from the balcony.

I usually also ask for dedicated so that there is no connecting door to another villa. Most villas at NAV connect to another villa. All the 2 bedrooms are lockoffs at BWV. Some studios and some 1 bedrooms are dedicated, though.

That's my favorite location also. And you're not right across from the bus stop on the road. There's a nice big lawn between you and the road. In the morning, it's a great spot for people watching. And I loved watching the Epcot fireworks from here. I'd MUCH rather be here than in a Preferred Garden view.

If you have a standard view studio request overlooking the green. If a one bedroom...ask for a corner room if you want a view of Hollywood studios...otherwise most face the bus stop.
I think the village green area is pool/garden not standard.

We were right by the front entrance.it was close to the elevators, but the balcony was not private.

Yup, they are.....as are the "corner rooms" (numbered x123)
Those (x123) are standard view 1 bedroom villas. I don't particularly care them.

While they are somewhat larger than the other 1 bedrooms and have much larger balconies, I found them very dark and because of that, the extra space was unappealing and seemed like an afterthought. Maybe they improved the lighting during the last rehab. We haven't been assigned to one since then. I know many do not share my opinion.

Worst DVC stay ever was a BWV standard studio. Very close to elevator, overlooking the (very loud and very busy) entrance. The door to the balcony was not air-tight, so we could hear every little beep-beep-beep from the service vehicles, and the AC would not get the room below 77 degrees. In July. In spite of me asking for maintenance three times on a 4 day stay. Did I mention July??? It was enough to turn our family off of BWV in general, but I think if we ever went back we would just request far away from elevators... would much rather a long walk to a cool, quiet room!

oops, you're right :guilty: We had booked a P/G 1 bdrm years ago, and wound up in one. on the other hand, we loved the room, especially the wrap around balcony & multiple doors - the trees were less mature, & the room seemed very bright & airy.

We just had a 2 BR standard in May. I purposefully requested by the tennis courts because I didn't care about the walk (which really wasn't bad at all). We had room 2131/2129 and had a nice view of the water/trees and it was quiet. I personally liked it because it was close to stairs to the bus stop and close to the stairs to the HS path, and less than a minute walk to the pools.

High floor. Not much to look at, driveway or parking lot. Too close to elevator gets you the view of the luggage trucks coming and going which includes banging of the carts and trucks beeping while backing up. I love standard view as an owner, but they come with a price.

I always try to stay away from the front entrance area where the airline baggage check in kiosk is located. I'd rather do the long hallway than to listen to that in the morning.

I always request "upper floor, away from the elevator". Apparently it is not a very common request because the CM said "Are you sure? Do you know how long those hallways are?"

Disney will take a view category to the max if they can, a little bit of water seen from the room and it's a lake view. That being said, a standard view is standard for a reason. While some may not find the view objectionable, others like my family are willing to pay more for the best chance to get a great view.

Ain't that the truth! I've posted the issue I had with BWV before. Had a "pool/garden view" and our "view" was a HUGE tree surrounding our patio with many in tree critters. (We are patio people.) If you looked to the very far left of the tree, within a 12 inch space, you "might" see the pool. BWV has way too many overly mature trees surrounding the property cutting off the desired views. Since then, I always try to reserve a Preferred Boardwalk View which has no trees.

Try a boardwalk view, that is our favorite.
