Standard View At Dolphin

We have standard room at dolphin - can someone give my good hints on what to request. I was wondering if there we any nice standard view room. I would probably like to be closest to pool because my mother wouldn't have to walk that far. I am also hoping for a comp upgrade, but we have 2 rooms and that might be harder to get. But, I will keep on hoping. Thanks for any information that will help.

We were just there in May and we were on the 11th floor 5 doors down from the west elevator. We also had a standard room w/o a balcony but we did face out towards the Swan and MGM. The elevator takes you straight down to Tubbies, and is the closest to the pool and the laundry room. The boat is just a 2 minute walk from it also. We have 3 little ones so the balcony wasn't a big deal and being that high up gave us a good view. You can actually see Mickey standing on top of the rock at the end of Fantasmic. You really can't lose for the price.

Last Nov. Dolphin was full of conventioneers, so despite my Starwood card and a polite request, no free upgrade. I asked for a nice view, and was given the 4th floor room shown below.

for best access to tubbies you want to ask for the west wing...if on the east there is a bit of a walk. Remember the Dolphin is huge compared to the Swan. Also ask for a hig floor and if walking is an issue tell that to the person at check in, because some rooms are a bit of a hike late at night.
