I just called to switch our OKW reservation to a standard view @ BWV's and I was able to obtain the entire week without wait listing!:thumbsup2 I am in SHOCK :scared1: and did not know what I should request because we have only stayed @ BWV's for one night pre-cruise. For all you BWV veterans out there what would you request in a room if you got a BWV standard view? I tried to ask for a room close to the elevators but the CM said the standard view rooms are usually at the end of the hallways. My other question is for on site dining. Which restaurants on the Boardwalk are not to be missed?

Thanks for any suggestions. :woohoo:

It is not true that the standard rooms are at the end of the hallways...the standard rooms are all along one side of the hallway. If you want to request close to the elevator, you can, but you will be close to the off site luggage check in, and your balcony view will be the up close to the resort driveway. The nicer views, imo are the ones down the hallway.

Higher up further from the elevators have the best views, but are the least convienent.

Low floors and close to the elevators are more convienent (especially for the pool), but don't tend to have as nice of views and can get a little noisy.

This is true. We were on the fourth floor, last room, BUT right near the staircase. If we took the stairs out, which we usually did, it took us out by the pool and atlantic dance hall. Our view was really nice. We had a view of the TOT and the swan & Dolphin hotel Our room # was 4006. Enjoy!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! :lovestruc

The stairs are all over the place and BW afficiandos generally figure out the stairs pretty quick. But four flights of stairs with young kids and a stroller, or older people with bad knees, just so you get a decent view would not be a choice I'd make...

Our kids are older and we don't have bad knees yet, both my husband and I run and can get up four flights without being winded - so stairs are fine for us. But for a lot of people - the elevators are a LONG way down the hallway and are really the only practical choice.

We were in a SV 1BR in June. I can't recall the exact villa number right now but we were on the 3rd floor with a view of the hotel entrance and driveway. We had a HUGE balcony which we did enjoy sitting out there in the evening. I like to people watch so that was fine too! We weren't too far from the elevator. I believe maybe 5-6 villas down the hallway. Great too because you just hop off the elevator on the bottom floor and poof--you are at the pool!

Personally, we'd much prefer a room closer to the elevator than one with a great view. Those are the LONGEST hallways I've seen. I made a run to the trash room one afternoon and I'm not kidding when I say it was a good 5 minute walk from our room. I didn't think I was ever going to find that trash room! No way I'd want that far of a walk after a long day of walking the parks.

We too were able to reserve that SV villa at 7 months out.:thumbsup2

I am getting GREAT feedback! Thanks and keep the information coming.
This is a Spring Break trip and we plan on going to some Braves spring training games. We wanted to be close enough to walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios to be able to catch the bus to the ball games and eat in Epcot where some of our favorite restaurants are located. The view was not as important to us as saving on points (had to borrow a few to make this reservation) so trying to figure out a good room request(s) to optimize our SV 1 bedroom is essential.:cloud9:

When I book standard view, I request top floor across from the bus stop. That puts you about half way down the hall. I like the upper floors for a good view of the fireworks from Illuminations plus it's quieter. The rooms at the end of the hall will put you closer to DHS.

There are 3 awesome 1 bedrooms on the corner near the pond, much larger than the others. I was lucky to get it one time without even requesting it. Here was my report:
