I have just read the DIS thread on this hotel as we haven't stayed here for years and the last time we did was on the Admiral's Floor.
This time we're in a standard room and I'm unsure of what to expect so any info would be much appreciated please! We have requested a non-smoking room near the lifts.
From reviews on here and elsewhere it seems we could face a 2 hour check-in; a 10 mile hike to our room which could well be filthy and will have no hairdryer or kettle! Oh joy!
Is there anyone who has stayed here recently who could give me some up-to-date info or top tips please?:thumbsup2

Hi Sarah
We stayed at NPB last Easter, arrived the day before Good Friday, was really busy but check in only took about 30 mins, 10 mins in queue and the rest checking in. It was our daughters 18th they put us on Admirals Floor and gave the 6 of us breakfast in the Captains Quaters for her birthday which was much more relaxed than the 2 normal breakfast rooms. We didn't see any difference with Admirals Floor, no kettle although you could ask for one, think hairdryers were in the bathroom. Took about 5 minutes to get to our room via lift.
The outside of the Hotel was in need of some paint and the bedrooms had peeling wallpaper, but sheets / bathroom were clean and we weren't there much.
Have a good holiday.

im also worried, were staying here in sept but we have only stayed off site before and everything is always supplied in the room.

i thought all hotels were non smoking

I think we're just gonna have to hope it's all ok! Glad there's a hairdryer though and we'll ask for the kettle and bring cups etc.
I didn't know all hotels were non-smoking over there, I always request non-smoking just in case!
Let's keep our fingers crossed... X

We stayed at the Newport Bay back in June (half term) in a Standard Room. We checked in at 10:30am and by the time I had filled in the form they give you I was nearly at the front to check in. I'd say we were quite a way from the reception but I don't see a problem with that. OK the hotel is big but it's not really *that* far to walk for breakfast - not compared to the walking you'll do during the day :) The hotel room was fine and the beds were comfy. The hairdryer is just outside of the bathroom and we didn't have a kettle as I don't think the standard rooms have them. We took a kettle and some hot chocolate to drink but we never drank it as it was too hot! Instead we went and got some ice from the ice machine and drank it with the coke we'd brought with us.

Hope you enjoy your stay

Suzie.

Thanks for your reassurances :-) l will ask at reception about the kettle and see what they say: it's really for my mum who's coming with us.

Glad i found this thread! We just booked during the flash sale to stay here in sept for dds secnd birthday, its the only dlrp hotel we are yet to stay in. The hny was only forty pound more and i really struggled as i have read such bad things about the npb, but i guess you dont kow until you have tried it right. I will get some piccies and report back after i have been. :thumbsup2 i am going with an open mind, it cant be that big inside can it lol :lmao: and provided the room is clean i dont mind the lived in feel as it is a hotel in disney so to expect it to be blemish free etc is unrealistic, but i do expect it to be clean and tidy. Glad they have hair dryers as thats one less thing to worry about, quite looking forward to it really :goodvibes

the hairdryers are those hot-air-tubes-attached-to-the-wall things - they're not brilliant, in my opinion. I always take my own little hairdryer and kettle.
