Standard rooms at Boardwalk Villas

I purchased a week at BVC and paid more for a preferred view. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to change weeks from Feb until late April. Due to availabilty (I changed in Jan) I was downgraded to a standard view. Of course, I did not get the extra $150 I spent for the prefered room back, but I am more worried about the view than the money. I just realized a couple of days ago I'd been downgraded. I had really been looking forward to a nice view. How bad is a standard view at the BVC?

We save points and stay standard when available. Our room overlooked the entrance to the hotel last June. I have never found the view offensive. I guess there are probably some views that could be a problem, I've heard of the infamous dumpster view, but never have I experienced it myself.

BCVs do not have standard views. Sure you don't mean BWV?

BWV = Boardwalk Villas

$150? Were you renting points?

I would rather have a standard view than a preferred (non-boardwalk) view at BWV. If you get a room facing the bus stop on the upper floors, you have a great view of Illuminations. I don't think it's bad at all.
