stand by JetBlue

We have a 11:30Am flight this August out of Providence. There are no earlier flights that day. We are looking into seeing if we could fly out of Boston on standby at 9am. Boston Area covers providence, boston and worcester. We would only do this if the plane still had quite a bit of room. There is a 10:30 flight out of Boston as well if we could not get onto 9am flight. Does anyone know if we could try the standby our of Boston?

We fly JB out of Boston all the time. These flights are completely full each and every time. Sure, you could try. But realistically, the chances are slim you'd get on. And if you didn't, would you want to risk missing your definite PVD flight? I'd say go with the sure thing, or if the early flight is what you want, just pay the change fee and come up here.

JetBlue's website says same departure and destination airports so I would say it's a no.
