On Feb 16 I grabbed an AP TRON preview slot for March 4 even though we really had no intention of going. Well, that changed so we booked a cash room at POR which was going to run about $1,000 for the 3 nights.
Yesterday I decided to stalk DVC and was able to grab the first night at OKW and the next two nights at SSR (both resorts in studios). This morning I was able to switch the first night at OKW to SSR in the same room type and MS merged it while i was on chat. Now the only regret is not grabbing a DVC time slot too. I was under the impression you weren't supposed to sign up unless you had a stay booked by Feb 13 at midnight, but I have seen many people who bypassed those rules.
ETA: To clarify....not calling out those who bypassed what I thought the rules were.....just wishing I had done the same.
