:grouphug:
Hello all.... we are home... they release her today but she is on SIX WEEKS of restrictions... no school for at least anothe week, no dance or gym or 6 weeks..... no work for a couple of weeks.....she is not a happy camper..lol... you want to know the scary thing.... her she is in the hospital with her favorite stuffed animal and the blanket her boyfriend made her and they are having her sign all the permission to do the surgery.... she is 18.... it about broke my heart.... there was my baby laying there in pain and it was like they didn't need me.... boy.... all that pain of child birth, raising them, taking care of them and POOF in an instant they don't need us..... well after the shock wore off.... and I heard her say" Mommy is it okay to sign..." I knew I was safe for just a little longer.....

By the way.... our kids LOVE to do things with us.... they tell everyone we are tons of fun.... Maggie doesn't know that I have seen it but on her MYSPACE comments she has that her hero is her Mom..... so I guess she will need me for a little while longer....

Hope everyone is having a great day.... I am glad to be home!!!

WOW! Six weeks?! That's amazing! Bob's niece was in and out and back to school (she's a college junior). Poor Maggie must have had a much more difficult time! Did they tell you why they sent you home the first time without surgery? So terrible she had to go through so much pain! give her hugs from New Jersey...:grouphug:

Sorry to hear Maggie has been ill. Hope she is feeling better soon :grouphug:

Are you gonna do a trip report?

I am going to try but I will probably wait until after Easter. I am planning to smock Alyssa an Easter dress so I had better get started on it!!

Wendy - I'm glad that she is home and still needs you  What does this mean for your Disney trip in about a month?

no quite sure about the trip... we are still planning on going... might just be a few less rides.... which is okay we like to take it easy.... she loves to shop and eat while there... spend some time by the pool.... I am thinking that it might be nice to treat her to a spa treatment after this ordeal....

thanks again for all your well wishes.... she has pretty much slept since she has been home but I will again relay your nice messages!

The spa at the Dolphin looks gorgeous.... I'm debating a visit myself in June! ;)

Shop and eat - gee - that sounds like Dana....

Renee... I don't know much about the Dolphin... we have considered staying there a few times since they offer such nice military rates ($129 per night)... seems that everytime I call though they are booked:confused3 .... so tell me about the spa..... we have only been to the spa at GF... its funny the first time we went Maggie was about 14... the thought of someone touching her made her cringe.... so we did a milk bath with a head massage... and manicure.... boy have things changed... now she likes the body masage and herbal wraps..... she also loves Coach bags..... my DD has some expensive tastes.... lucky for me she has a job and buys her own Coach bags....:thumbsup2 .... I am not sure about some of the spa services if they would be okay... I am pretty sure the 3 external incisions will be healed but not sure about the inside..... but that doesn't mean I can't go :lmao:

on a side note... I am re thinking some of our dining resevations... I did have to make some changes because my mom decided to join us late and I couldn't add a 5th person... here is what I have.... Rainsforest cafe for lunch (DS request), Mama Melrose for fantasmic package, Grand Floridian Tea on afternoon for the girls, Boma,Chefs de France and Coral Reef..... I am thinking of changing Chefs, Boma and Coral.... I had to cancel Le Cellier:sad1: and couldn't get CRT that my mom wanted... can't believe she has never eaten in the castle.... so what suggestions might you all have........ we are more of a meat family as opposed to seafood...

Maggie and Dana could be twins! Dana loves her Coach bags and her manicure & pedicures! :rotfl:

I love Chefs de France, that's my FAVORITE, so I wouldn't change that! If you go to the spa at the Dolphin, you can go to Shula's - which is just like a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, if you've been to either. The "meat" there is awesome. We went to the Coral Reef YEARS ago and did not care for it. I'm sure it must have been an "off day" and it was over 15 years ago - but with all the other places to try, Bob still doesn't want to return, that's how lousy the meal was! :headache:
We are doing Hollywood & Vine for the Fantasmic package, because we had heard iffy things about Mama Melrose - but remember, I'm 100% Italian and very picky about Italian food - I think Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill rank up there with McDonalds. :lmao:

Never been before - but I've been hearing good things about Kona. Have you tried that? What about Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner? Our friends recommended that to us and Dana put that in as her request for June. The dinner is family style, but with all different meats. Too bad you had to change your Le Cellier reservation, since you enjoy "meat".
And... tell me about the Grand Floridian Tea... we LOVE to "do tea"! Although, I think it would take too much time away from a park or waterpark.
Oh - Flying Fish on the Boardwalk supposedly has one of the best steaks in Disney World... go figure!

Wishing everyone a blessed Easter... and asking for some major prayers...
we had very sad news yesterday... Bob's 20 year old niece in Florida was just diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gerhig's Disease) with a life expectancy rate of 2 to 5 years. We are just devastated. Beautiful, vibrant, smart girl. It's just so hard to imagine.. Please remember Bob's brother's family in your prayers. Thank you.

Happy Easter everyone!! I just finished Alyssa's dress and I'm about to go to bed.

Renee - how sad about your niece. I will definitley keep her and her family in my prayers. That is such a horrible disease...I can't imagine how it would feel to be so young and have a diagnosis like that.

Oh truly sad... we will be thinking of all of you....our prayers are with all of you:hug:

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers....

We are off at the crack of dawn for a few days in sunny Ft. Lauderdale...:beach:

Bob's been working very hard, and with this news about his niece, I think he needs a few days to just RELAX. He and Dana have made plans to go kayaking - I have a date with my lounge chair, my book, and a MAI TAI. :cool1:

Just looking forward to a few days for just the three of us. :dance3:
We'll be back on Saturday and I'll catch up with everyone then...

:grouphug:

Bye Renee...I hope getting away will be great for all of you!!

Wendy - I thought about you in the middle of the night last night when I was in the ER with Amanda...she was throwing up and had severe abdominal pain. We were afraid that it was appendicits so I took her on to the ER. DH stayed at home with Alyssa and of course he didn't sleep a wink while we were gone. Luckily we were only there from about 1:30 - 4:45. Thankfully it turned out to be a virus. They did bloodwork & a CT scan of her abdomen, gave her 2 shots 1 for pain & 1 for nausea and sent us on our way. She and I slept until 11am and have laid around the rest of the day. She is much better. By the way how is Maggie doing?

Poor Amanda... I hope she is feeling better. Maggie is doing better... the doctor has her on restrictions until April 6th but gave her the go ahead for our trip:banana:  .... not to scare you but keep an eye on Amanda... Maggie had a CT scan and showed nothing but when the took her appendix out it was infected... neither the CT or the sonogram showed anything.... she just wasn't getting better....so we knew that something was wrong... not just an virus....

I'm glad that Maggie is getting better and as the doctor's OK for your trip! Thanks for warning me about that...it's good to know. Amanda is back at school today so for now she is better but we will definitley keep a close eye on her over the next few days.

So I now to have figure out how to get 9 days worth of clothes into one suitcase for vacation. I'm guessing I'll end up shipping souvenirs.

Has anyone heard from Courtney and Ryan.... shouldn't baby Emerson be here about now????????????????

I just got on facebook, I know she put up new pictures about 2 hours but no word about Emerson yet.
