Stalker or just freak??

This sounds frightening. I would contact the police and ask advice. I'm afraid for you to make him mad, and you can't meet or talk to him, so I have no idea.

One call from someone is one thing, but to not tak NO for an answer is scary. Make sure your husband always answers your phone.

I say freak stalker and would also call the police and report this. Save those phone messages and submit them as evidence.

Get your phone number changed asap and double check all your windows and door locks. I would also tell your family and also ask your neighbors to be on the lookout for any suspicious prowlers around not only your home, but the entire neighborhood.

Stay safe.

POLICE....tomorrow morning! Another thing, I noticed that your countdown ticker shows "5 days till WDW". I'd take steps to ensure that my home didn't appear "deserted" during that time. You wouldn't want this freak to get any ideas about going inside to have a look around.

Yikes, that gave me chills. I would absolutely call the police if I were you. Stay safe!!

BTW -- assuming you are married w/ a name change.... how did he find you?

I'm not married...only one of those kids in the picture is mine, the other is my godson who passed away 2 years ago. I went next door and talked to my neighbor when he got home tonight who is a lawyer...he also said to go to the police station so tomorrow during lunch I will run over there. We don't have an alarm but we have a very noisy mean sounding dog who barks if someone dares walk down the street ....He said on the phone that he lives in Florida but is always here for some business. One stupid thing I did withthe last three messages, I was so creeped out I hit delete and didn't save them....I will be sure to save anything else he leaves though! Boy this is a pain in the butt...what is wrong with people????

Police! Why wait until tomorrow, why not call them tonight and ask them to send an officer to your house. That way, if the guy IS watching you (and we all think he is) he will see the officer and maybe quit.

Also, if you can afford a security system, I'd get one installed and make sure they put a keypad in your bedroom as well. Getting one installed professionally and that is hooked up to a central system will usually take between 10 - 20% off your homeowners insurance.

Contact the phone company and get Caller ID and Call Block installed on your phone. Caller ID will ensure that you have a complete record of every call that comes to your house. Call Block will enable you to block his number and there is another Blocking that you have the phone company attach that stops people who 'block" their number from getting thru to you.

YOU MUST TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION POSSIBLE TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES -THAT IS YOUR DUTY. This guy is nuts - certifiably bonkers. We here on the Dis have no interest in you other than ensuring you do everything you can to stay safe. Please keep us informed. We do care about each other.

And again, CALL THE POLICE NOW!

Stalker....Call police, do everything now before it gets out of hand..

I was stalked for 5 years by an ex and I moved 1/2 across Canada to get away from him. I came home to visit my parents one Christmas and he called. I said I have to leave. I'm packing...He asked why I was packing since I had only been in town for 6 days...My parents live 1/2 hour from him so how did he know I had been home only 6 days...I left for the airport wirthin 15 minutes.

I have since moved back to my hometown with new DH in tow but live in fear that the stalker will just show up one day. Several have said he moved but I still fear...Thank goodness DH is a very Big guy and takes good care of me because if the jerk comes around...I can't imagine what my DH would do.

Please be safe...I'm very happy you have a DOG!!!

Have your boyfriend make regular appearances. If you aren't dating right now, maybe you could have a male friend or a male relative that he doesn't know, stop by your house on a regular basis to make it appear that you have a significant other and he will leave you alone. I'm with everyone else, I think that he is watching and doesn't live in FL. This is scary!

I vote stalker. Along with the police, get some motion detector lights. Make sure he cannot see into your house at any point.
Enlisting friendly neighbors help is a good idea. Make sure that they know this guy is not wanted around. Also make sure they give no information to him at all.

You might want to safeguard your trash too. He could find information about you that way.

I'm drawing a blank right now.

Oh, get multiple answering machine tapes, that way you can save the messages.

Just be careful.

I work for a local police department in the detective bureau so these are the steps you need to take.:

Make a police report out. In our city the officer taking the report will call the "alleged" suspect and warn him or her that the calls/contact had better cease.

Next, contact the telephone company's harassment call department and tell them you have made a police report out (you will need the report number for the phone company). They will put a tape on your phone for a specific number of days. You will have to keep a log of the calls that come in. At the end of the tap period the phone company will fax the results to the police station.. Even if he uses a cell phone the police department can subpeona the cell phone company records so he will be found out!

Good luck!

I agree with all here. Lots of sound advice. Please keep us posted.

Goodness! I was voting for telling the police too, but you said you are going to do that already. Take care and keep us updated.

I would have my phone number changed to unlisted. Just call-blocking it won't help much since he can just call from another phone. Having your phone number changed is a hassle, and can also be an expense. I do know that in Texas, the phone company will change your number for free if you tell them its because you're receiving harrassing calls. I don't know if that is the same everywhere, but at least try it. You can save some money. I had someone making "hang-up" calls at all hours of the day and night, and that was before caller ID. I told the phone company I was receiving harrassing calls, they switched my number for free--otherwise, it would have cost me $90.

His name isn't Jamie is it?:p He sounds like someone from my past, yours just sounds slightly older (still as immature though).:scared1:

He sounds like a stalker. He's comfortable enough to tell you what he's been doing to see you, that means BE EXTRA CAREFUL. I'd call the police and ask what you need to do to protect yourself. Just in case.

I read an excellent book called "The Gift Of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker. He is a well-known security specialist, has done body guarding for celebrities, worked with the Secret Service etc. I suggest you purchase it. It has a chapter involving how to deal with stalkers that is extremely informative...right on the money. The biggest piece of advice he gives is DO NOT HAVE ANY FURTHER CONTACT WITH A STALKER,NO MATTER WHAT!

You have told him to leave you alone. Do not speak with him again. Each time you speak with him, in his deranged little mind he's sayinbg"she must feel something for me or she wouldn't be speaking to me". Alarm your home, make it seem like when you go to WDW that soemone is there(you may want to hire a housesitter), keep your windows locked and blinds drawn closed at night, be very aware of yor surroundings, go to the police immediately and report it...you want a paper trail, call the hpone company and tap your phone, keep any answering machine messages.

This person is a criminal. Treat him like one.

aprilgail2.........sorry to hear of your troubles with this creep. I hope you are okay. Do stay safe, and follow the good advice of the many here and file a police report. Please keep us posted.
